Am i missing any point of strategy or what, but many people recomend to buy air gen. For example, Ozawa or Goring. I have cleared all the game (all stars in all conquests and 3 golden stars in every campaign) without air gens at all. One my EC has 5 air stars, other 4 and third only 3. And I haven't missed that. As for me: in most cases I have used bombarding in campaigns on last turns just because initially you don't have money for that and it's cheaper to capture city with land units. Just you capture as many cities as you can with land units and other capture with bombarding. In conquests I have used massive bombarding when it's worth to have air gen when I attacked Europe from Asia or vice versa. Like you capture on airport II and the same turn bombard and capture as many cities around as you can. But these tasks can do with the same effect EC with 25 hp and the same amount of air stars.
For example, Ozawa. He costs 550 medals and has 3 air stars. 3 air stars for EC costs 210 medals. If you need so much his navy stars, you can buy 3 for 180 modals (navy damage less by 4 which is not notably). And for the medals, which are left from Ozawa's price you can upgrade him to 65 hp. And also 1 movement star will cost you 30 medals. Sure, for now he is worse than Ozawa, but you can upgrade him further and once he can become the strongest gen you have. Goring costs 2160 medals and has 5 air stars. 5 air stars for EC costs 1440 medals. Besides that Goring has 280 hp and supply 3, with which you can use him in any land unit. But you save 820 medals, which can be used for better purposes. And also sooner or later will become a problem, that air gen takes place, which can be used for tank or art gen. But if that tank or art gen is EC with air stars, you will have both at the same time.
So it looks like it's not worth to have dedicated air gen at all. What am I missing, where air gen can be useful?
