No diplomacy at all was used in this particular game, just old fashion brawls
Netherlands 1806 conquest: I relied at 1st on 3 artillery generals since we start with a high level city + factory. All generals have a health regen item. No upgrading or building anything for now till we get the trio generals on artillery pieces. The game start us with 1 heavy artillery so we just need to build a couple more.
Towards the mid and end game when income was no longer an issue I added the rest of the generals including the navy ones since the British were a major threat during the entire conquest.
The overall strategy can be summarized as starting 1 offensive front expanding East along the coast towards Russia (label 1: this will be our only offense for the majority of the game) and 1 defensive front defending our starting city from the British.(label 2)
Later on we will send a single general to defend the French capital Paris (label 3: must be done or it will fall ) + the no name NorthWestern French City from the constant British invasions.
The 1st general immediately go help take Berlin, it doesn't matter who takes it as long as it falls quick either to you or to your allies.
Then take or retake Frankfurt.
Continue expanding East. You need to get a couple of cities on top of your starting capital for basic income and unit population. Steal from your allies if you have to.
During the entire time of general 1 expanding East, the british will try multiple assault on Amsterdam, hit them in the water so they fight with penalty. A couple militia upfront blocking landing with 2 artillery general bombarding from the back will decimate the British land units when they are in the water.
Also always attempt to flank their navy before engaging it if possible, lowering their morale before the fight helps as lot .
The British Isle invasion is the very last operation, attempting to assault it sooner will go poorly. In my game the British were insanely good at defending their turf. They showed excellent skill at blocking landings and starting multiple spawning including war ships at just the right locations. Great defensive AI ! Still since they are the last enemy standing they will fall to the huge zerg from your allies and yourself.
