On the note of invading Britain... you MUST defeat the Royal Navy in order to do so. Napoleon recognized that, Hitler recognized, yet they failed to defeat the Royal Navy (Though in Hitler's case the Battle of Britain played a massive part) With regards to Spain, someone during the Peninsular War (I think it was Massena but I may be wrong) once said 'Spain is where small armies are defeated and large armies starve', which says quite a bit. Napoleon's greatest mistake in Spain was intervening in it at all And invading Russia at the same time. But really I think it’s because France was virtually by itself in 1815 and virtually every other country was eventually forced against by the British and their mischievous ways. Yeah, France was already in checkmate before it even started. Even if he won the Battle of Waterloo, the name of the battle where Napoleon would have lost would probably have changed to the Battle of Berlin or the Battle of Leipzig II.

Here is the starting position from the Imperial Eagle campaign Coalition Disruption from EW4, sums France's situation up pretty well

They also missed the Russians but they had to balance it out at least a little bit

It just occurred to me, I can't find the words for it right now. But Napoleon was this dude that gave his life for the French. This is cool. Among it , was his ego from where he began and what he started with. Then he became emperor. From there he's going down things don't even look good . When I think about it, he just gives his life to make this sift for the French to go in a different direction . Yes? I never gave thought until now . Something like that.

Sadly, he let his ego got the better of him. If he simply did what Alexander did: keeping the taxes and laws the same, and removing the unwanted laws of the land. Turns out forcing your ideals of nationalism to other countries isn't the best idea when trying to be diplomatic.
