Hello!
Currently I have almost no medals (maybe 350)
I have these generals:
Napoleon
Massena
Karl
and the free ones: Gates, Jourdan, Clinton.
None of them is upgraded except title, and only Napoleon has an item (telescope which sounded so good).
I have two questions.
1) Should I save for Mahmud II and a cavalry general (Murat/Davout), or should I spend my medals on upgrading my skills, ranks and buying items? I feel outmatched in many battles and I can't finish Lannes 4 or the last French Eagle mission.
2) What is special about princesses? Are they just weak generals bought for fun, or they are really special? Many people here praise Sophia as a great artillery general or Victoria as a great navy, but are they just a weaker Mahmud who is just to add a little aura?

Buy the healing items, especially the ambulances and tents. After you buy all 2 ambulances and 2 tents, you can decide to go for Murat or Alexander (although i'd say go for Murat since you don't have a cavalry gen). If you are willing to spend more, buy Blucher, since he's the god of war in this game. Also, Sophia is a goddess, she's actually on par with Mahmud and Alexander, it's just that Alexander and Mahmud have the artillery commander skill, which boosts other artillery damage around them. Also, john is strong too. Although, i'd say hold off on to buying Sophia, since you may need her aura and Louise's aura in certain campaigns and challenges. |

And don't worry about medals, since at that point in the game the flow of medals is still pretty fast, all you have to do is complete campaigns and challenges, and get the conquest rewards. It slowly becomes a Netherlands 1798 grind tho , but you should be fine before that. |

I started the game getting massena, then karl and upgraded them so I can spam conquests.

If u decide to get Blucher,Murat,Dombrowski,or all 3 even better.
Keep in mind,you will need alot medals to upgrade thier Cavalry commander skill.
If that's the way you want to go.

Blucher is still on par with Murat/Davout, right? Blucher has edge, and a significantly higher BA than Murat (even if Murat could reach emperor, Blucher would still be around 20+ more BA than Murat). |

He is very good with the Ambulance I wasted all my medals I earned and bought at buying healing items and upgrading generals ranks. Did not have enough medals yet to upgrade their skills  So I ended up without Mahmud II (I dreamt about him from the first day on this forums lol like half year) but with strong infantry generals. Napoleon and Jourdan fill my needs in artillery right now before I earn medals for Mahmud or Sophia. |

Just focus on maxing the commander skills of your aura gens. After that, you can focus on getting generals. |
