Believe it or not, the life expentancy of a soldier in World War II was just 45 seconds. Tanks life expentancy was better, 1 minute.
Life expentancy for soldiers in WWI was significantly better, 6 weeks.
I think this statistics alone speak a lot.

True. But remember that the most casualties in WW1 where in trench warfare and I believe daily about 2k allied and >2k Germans died

I don't get what you mean Japan=Axis (In WW2) and commited several warcrimes (Experiments with Group 731 and the rape of Nanking to name a small portion) Japan=Allies (In WW1, mainly to grab some colonies of Germany) and they protected alot of British ships. Besides of that did they also capture Tsingtao |

WW1 had movement too. The war in the colonies, invading Russia in 1917/1918, the German U-Boats. But yeah the most fighting was in the trenches. oh, and don't forget Lawrence from Arabia I mainly meant the war in the West. In the East, you had Ludendorff and Hindenburg quick-scoping the Russians (Half of the Russian troops didn't have guns :3 ). in ww2 USSR armies had 1 gun to 5-10 men with devise you will get your gun in a battle. |

I do stand by the fact that WWI was more brutal. Don't get me wrong:The Second World War was horrific, but think about it from the soldier's eyes. Which is more brutal:sitting in a diseased ridden trench while your comrades just get picked off one by one and having to sit there for months with artillery bombardments and stalemate, or moving quickly on a tank rolling through N.Africa? Would you rather be completely demoralized and feel unpatriotic about the country which you're fighting for or be nationalistic and believe in your country's cause? Would you rather be fed with food that is half sawdust, or be fed actual rations? Etc, etc. In terms of numbers, WWII is much worse. In terms of atrocities, WWII is much much worse. But in terms of the men on the front, WWI is by far more brutal.
