So I have Massena and four free ones, and I was going to follow my man stoic's suggestion (found here) but I have enough medals (c1750) to get Karl or Murat soon. I'm thinking Murat as I have Jourdan for arty, but Karl would complement Massena as would Barclay, who I could buy right now and have some spare for upgrades & equipment. What do you guys reckon? I'm half way through HRE & OEE btw. |

I'm half way through HRE & OEE btw. They say that choosing between two evils is still choosing evil, but, on the contrary, you have a fairly pleasant choice now. First you can't be wrong choosing either of them, second both are an important part of your personal dream team. I would say that another Infantry Commander is slightly preferable simply because you will hire infantry units most of the time in early campaigns (and two Commanders nearby make difference). But Murat is very effective while acting alone, and you usually have one good cavalry unit at your disposal. |

I would get Murat simply to balance my line up. I would not recommend Murat (not now later of course yes) Two aura are really stronger than one cav aura. and that murat is good on its own is certainly a myth in the beginning. Yes he's good but not that good. |

You have enough to get Ney now with alot of medals left over. But if it's Murat you want, then you should get him. I would take an aura, but ney? Ney doesn't even come close to Davout Last Murat. you don't need ney in your final setup while without a murat you can barely play the game. |

I'd say buy Murat.As long as you're patient,Netherlands 1798 will bestow you with as much medal as you need.As for Karl,he's fine too.Depends on personal preference,really.

It seems either Karl or Murat is a fine choice with a maybe a slight edge towards Karl, but personal preference is towards Murat as I don't have a Cav general and want to see how useful he is. plus another Inf general just doesn't seem as exciting  I should have enough medals in a couple of days or so, hopefully... |

Yes,you already have Massena and should have Gates and Clinton,so infranty can wait. Murat is excellent,not right out the box but with upgrades,will be. |

I'm half way through HRE & OEE btw. Barclay, Mahmud II, Murat, Davout I would recommend the first 2 more tho. Barclay is just that gud, and mahmud II is an arty god. Murat and davout are also gud, but real expensive. You could also get John. |
