He he I just got round to clicking this link; I was expecting some kind of in-depth, high-brow documentary, not bloody Sharpe!  Not that I'm dissing Sharpe at all mind you, it was those books that reminded me just how great I truly was  They come highly recommended by me, and the TV series was good fun too. Thinking about documentaries on the subject though I'm glad to have found this one; I loved it when it was on TV and am glad to have found it on YT, and I now know what I'll be watching this weekend  : |

Some generals would intentionally lose battles to win the war. That's why i'm not a firm believer that win ratio determines how great a general is. Also, some intentionally lose the present to make sure their victory is more complete.Although it has a correlation, that doesn't necessarily mean he is the greatest general.

How am I not on that!? Iosef Stalin was the best of all of them. He dominated every single foe. He won 57 battles and lost 1000. Thats a net gain of -943!!!! |
