the next step is which general now? paget, suvorov, washington, bolivar or scharnhorst. paget not, we already have a cav and there are only a few campaigns with more than 1 cav unit. scharnhorst is arty and arty sucks. then remain the three inf but wich one should I choose?

Suvarov. Without an aura he is amazing. Also he can be placed on any unit and still be effective. His high batgle ability and terrain options work when he is not on infantry. More versatile and i think that will be helpful for your quest. And i loved using him. He is great fun.

Alert is useless for infantry but he is cheep and the other skills are actually not bad that he has. Emperor rank, so many gold medals but a good attack. Garabaldi can attack twice, super nice and he is cheaper, but not neary as good of an attack. The choice is a hard one. Good luck.

I believe a very, very strong 8-team could be built:
Cav: Davout, Lan, Ney
Inf: Bolivar, Washington,
Arty: Sophia, Scharny
Navy: Victoria
