In this game your starting general is very important, as there are many routes to take him. These are the armors you can unlock for him that change his talent to basically one of the IAP Generals, which is important as you get him for free. On top of this, it seems you earn skill points to put into attack ability in this game, meaning you only spend money on purchasing generals and upgrading their skills, not their stars. Upgrading rank works differently than before. Now, rank gives a damage multiplier that increases with the amount of units in a stack, up to 5. On top of this, when one unit in the stack is depleted you can purchase a replacement, effectively making generals last longer. I have already posted the skills, but not on how you unlock them. It seems you need to earn specific skills scrolls from missions or purchase them from the shop. Additionally, there are banners (like medals) that you can earn to boost specific skills, as well as an IAP one called "wolf banner" that increases all skills by 1. I do not know which skills are best yet, but this should help dispel some of the feeling of P2W over the IAP's

This will likely spark a discussion about which armor is best. Thankfully this community has open-minded and respectful members.

So I started out trying to use cav on my Commander;I think that was a mistake. Because archers can attack without getting attacked back it makes them more suitable for a general early game when they have no skills. By itself cavalry does not have the combat ability it used to, or the HP. Cleopatra seems like she was a good choice for a second general, as Navy does seem important in this game, and her archer-navy hybrid nature makes her really powerful early game.
Navy ships are now something you apply to a land unit at a port when they enter the sea, so having Cleo be a navy-archer hybrid is really strong as she can quite literally do both

I would have admit, judging from reports so far. This new game, may have some major flaws.such as farming for example, they might have eliminated any chance for us. If so,I'm out! even before I start. Good thing I still have Ew6😊

Wich skills should we give him forest, march and wich then? I presume, no rush decisions are needed. Take your time. Errors might be costly in this game, as I see...

You can reset attack points on your commander for 5000 coins (the easier to get currency) but the actual skills you get cannot be refunded.

Actually 5000 is an awfull lot, equating to a couple of conquests. Skills can actually be removed without deleting them.

I think it's a good addition that they force us to play all countries instead of just 1 country 50 times
