Well, it is like a marketing action in the shop. Buy IAP -> complete the event -> have some sort of "refund" with medals. I see no any inequality actually. But I see Your point also just don't agree it is bad. I didn't play GoG2: Ace as it was p2w in my opinion. Hope it is not gonna happen to GC:R but it's there right to marketing their product whatever they like and I - as a consumer - have right to choose whether to participate or not. I'm not saying it's against the law but just that I don't like it F2Ps eventually catch up, but yeah, i'm a bit salty that i may have to buy an IAP to compete in the events. I'll try playing the game normally without an IAP when the game releases, and we'll see where it goes . Companies gotta have to company, but i prefer if they are more subtle about them. At least we don't have loot boxes.

OT:antf I though these recommendations by Friedrich “Fried Rice” Paulus were on spot. Full thread can be found HereOOT:Ok guys please remember that the game board must be on topic. The original poster (the OP) is not being helped by a discussion on the morality of IAP and whatever other philosophical concept you may have, that's not what he asked. He is asking for advice on how to spend his medals. You must always respect OP's and respond to his question first then maybe add an extra comment about how you feel if you must. If you as a member cannot respond to an OP but want to post about how you feel about a particular topic that was mentioned then open a new thread and start a new discussion.

Now I say what I did with the medals: * I bought Caesar, Hannibal, Spartacus for money. * I bought Octavian and Pompey for 1300 medals. * I spent 1500 medals and bought in the shop: -Augustus Helmet for Caesar (defense +12, health of all units in the legion + 18, require Consul) -Golden spear (attack +24, rate of critical strike +15%, require Marshal) -Consul's sceptre (attack of legions in the surrounding 1 grid +15%, require Consul) * I spent 600 medals to promote Spartacus to Consul (for Consul's sceptre) * I bought some skills for my generals in the shop.
The rest is 5 medals. Unlike other company games, I don't need medals anymore.
PS I bought the biggest pack of medals, Caesar, Hannibal and Spartacus. Then I can't complete the Punic wars conquest. I chose many countries in both sides and I lost (my allies lost) always. Perhaps I made a mistake, because my purchases made the conquest too hard.

To promote Spartacus to Consul, you need to spend 955 medals (and the price is same for every generals). So I don't think you only buy 1 medal pack I also spend for IAPs and 2300 medals. Just buy skills and items, not yet bought any generals.

Remember, you can always restart and your medals will be there. I bought a bunch of meh items with my medals I earned from campaign so I had to restart. After rebuilding my infantry general with worse skills but ones that are constant modifies (i have hide and counterrattack on mine), I am saving the medals on other generals. Try Massylia (bribe the allies in your top right corner to enter the war on your side). Otherwise they will turn against you and you have no hope of winning.

Since you have that much medals, might as well spend them to upgrade your general's rank. That's it. Then you can focus on getting other generals. Get some items too, since they're generally cheap, and their really useful. As for conquest, focus on improving your economy, and you can play slow or fast depending on how you're comfortable with it. I prefer aggressive play, but you can never go wrong with slow play to learn the basics.
