I actually think Italy is the easiest 2-star 1980 country. You get to use Germany and France as meat shields, you have a central location, you get super subs, and you get artillery generals, which are really useful.
I think I got 30-ish turns with USSR, but that was because for about 10 turns my allies were using their trash units plugging up South America trying to finish off the terrorists.

I feel bad for Spain because I think Guillemot is supposed to go to France (cuz he's French) but he ends up going to weak Spain along with Benteke all the time. |

The thing I like about 1980 however is that the terrorists are absolute garbage when it comes to defending their own cities, so capturing Spain is actually a breeze, you just have to mop up all the super tanks without them taking any cities back. The only thing I hate about Europe is all the Scandanavian ports the terrorists have. So much spam. |

The thing I like about 1980 however is that the terrorists are absolute garbage when it comes to defending their own cities, so capturing Spain is actually a breeze, you just have to mop up all the super tanks without them taking any cities back. The only thing I hate about Europe is all the Scandanavian ports the terrorists have. So much spam. If u ignore it they won't spam. The soviet spam will eventually take Scandinavia so I alreadys ignore it. |

Yeah, when I get to Scandanavia I usually focus on the cities first, that way I won't have to worry about losing them later on. The rocket carriers can fire all they want if they can kill but not take my cities. |

Yeah, when I get to Scandanavia I usually focus on the cities first, that way I won't have to worry about losing them later on. The rocket carriers can fire all they want if they can kill but not take my cities. That's why if you take all the airports, you can ignore the cities next to missile cruisers. |

So I got screwed over by my phone and lost my Egypt save state about 5 turns before I could have finished, but Egypt is really easy as a one-star country.
Send your main force to the Middle East, Nasser South, and one tank general each to the west and north. Your navy's gonna steal the Italian port and some Spanish ports, and your other units are gonna start expanding in Africa.
Wait for everyone (enemy and allies) to die in the Middle East, and then steal Iraq and Turkey and kill them off cause why not. Once you've taken the middle east, start working on the Balkans with the north tank general and send everyone else (main force) to China and Siberia. Your number one tank general's gonna secure a foothold in Spain with the help of your navy, and then just work your way up to the north coast.
After Nasser and a bunch of mechanized infantries take over Africa, send them to South America and steal their ports before securing a foothold.
Half of your main force is gonna converge with #1 tank general in east Europe. Use paratroopers to take over England, and once you destroy their titan tanks just ignore their navy for now.
Once your navy has taken over the Mediterranean, send them over to Scandanavia and at least one sub to the port in Quebec. If the US survives you don't have to care about Canada.
Keep sending the rest of your main force east, and eventually you're gonna win.

I recommend Turkey cuz you can easily access Europe and Asia I personally actually prefer countries that use their allies as buffers instead of countries that have to meet terrorists head-on, like Italy and Egypt. It allows you to build your income first before attacking. As long as you reach the middle east before your allies fall, but after they lose a few cities ( cause the terrorists never remember to defend them) you should be fine. |

But every time I do 1980 conquests, my Allies are crushed within seconds so I prefer wrecking the terrorist first. The key is to keep capturing and holding cities. |
