There were some minor attacks on Istanbul but those weren't very successful. On the 20th of April ships fro Genua came and brought supplies from the pope because he also wanted to help defeat the Ottomans even though he would be working together with the Byzantine Empire. These ships were attacked by the Ottomans but the attack failed (the Ottomans did have more ships) and that lead to Mehmet making a questionable move with his navy. since the ships can't go inside the city he made animals drag them 3km into the Strait this made the situation much worse for the defenders since the most secure position became dangerous now. Now that the North could be attacked too, Constantin (the Emperor back then) had to send troops away from the land walls to the North making it easier for the Ottomans to attack. Miners tried to mine (duh) Istanbul from beneath but they would get burned alive if seen and the defenders were still somehow able to hold the city even though food was short and the moral was pretty low.
On the 26th of May the Ottomans discuss leaving the battlefield due to low moral but most generals agree on a final push. Before the attack the defenders were able to hear the Ottoman soldiers cheer and pray, they had went through 53 days of besieging and 5000 shots out of the biggest cannons from the then biggest cannons. From the once 8000 soldiers only every 2nd able to fight.

Now finally come to the attack Shortly after midnight, the 29th had begun, the Ottomans were attacking. First ones were drafted Christians and adventurers, behind them were military police men they would whip everybody who wouldn't fight. Behind them were Jannissaries. They fought for 2 hours and only then Mehmet allowed them to retreat (they didn't win) Next were Anatolian regiments, they were highly motivated but also they failed in taking the city after 3 hours they had to retreat too. Just think of this you had to fight for 5 straight hours, see your friends getting killed and there's no more food and then you see even more troops coming towards you. An hour before sunrise Mehmet personally lead 5000 Jannissaries to the trenches. They also failed, but then Giovanni got wounded and that lead many soldiers from Genua freak out and start running away demoralized. When Mehmet saw that he told his troops to continue attacking as "We have the city, we already have her". And it did work, slowly the soldiers were able to push through the corridors between the walls. Then panic broke out, people either got killed by others (in the panic) or by the Ottomans. Constantin died too, his corpse has never been found though. When the sun rose the city was in Ottoman hand and would remain the capital until after WW1. For what happened after WW1 I recommend you look at General William T. Sherman's presentation of the Turkish Civil War.

Don't forget the Kerkoporta I new they came from corridors but I didn't know their names. Kerkoporta was actually a little gate that was left open and none knew about it (that it is open) the Ottomans came through it as well (probably the first gate through which they came in)

And the lowe part says "Geschichte eines islamischen Imperiums" that means History of an Islamic Empire (Imperium)

What part? Vienna I'm guessing but there are many things not discussed as much such as Kosovo Polje, the Crusades against the Ottomans, how Plewen influenced world history and its role in world politics
