Hi all, decided to create a new geography game with some rules and competition, to make things more exciting! Hope you guys enjoy it. Rules for Geography Game - 1) Any major city, province, physical landmark or country can be mentioned. 2) The cities mentioned must have a population of at least 1000. 3) Bonus points will be awarded for the player if the name of the place ends with x, q or y. 4) Bonus points will be awarded if the mentioned city, province or landmark exists in two countries, example - Hyderabad (name of a city in India and a city in Pakistan) another example is Brest a city in France and in Belarus I will post the score board and tag the top 5 players of the competition. The score board will be updated after 24 hours. Game will last a month and then the score board will be reset to zero and the game can be continued in the same thread. Will do same for the Historical guessing game, if you people want. The winners of this month edition will be featured on September newsletter edition Score Board

I have a question, the county I’m from was split into two and became parts of different countries. They have the same name but spelled differently and written differently but mean the exact same name. Is that ok? There is only a minor difference in spelling and writing.

There are actually quite a few cities in the us that have the same name as a capital in europe. For example, Paris Texas (France), Vienna Virginia (Austria), Moscow (Russia) Idaho, Berlin (Germany) New Hampshire, Rome, Oslo, Madrid... its ridiculous

actually it was not a joke, the County I’m from is called Lianjiang, it was split into two by the Chinese civil war. So now there is a Lianjiang County on the Mainland and a Lienchiang(Wades-Giles Romanization form of Lianjiang) County governed by Taiwan. 连江县(simplified) 連江縣(Traditional)
