Best units(in attack) in this game have a terrain bonus , 8/9 points in a discipline and a focused skill against certain unit( charge vs infantry) and I'm not even taking into account different personal bonuses . The skill cav/inf/arch commander has the best benefit in archery , second in infantry and lastly in cavalry , due to a fixed 60% double attack bonus . This is the same principle of EW6 . Do you remember the long debates around who was better between Davout or Murat ? Now we have some little differences because I can't give the title of Murat of this game to a precise non IAP general (maybe Arminius , but I saw Huo or Scipio dealing more damage in many crucial situations in campaigns). Charge is definitely a great skill. Look at the map, its litered with infantry. What are your cavarly units going to face when attacking cities? Infantry! Same with intercept and accuracy (although accuracy is only +4 damage rather than + 5, so even it is not that good on archers) Last game, the auras where just ridiculously overpowered so obviously murat won out. Here, everyone is equal.

Infantry is pretty strong, so why not 4? Cavalry is the best unit overall, so more Cavalry gens wouldn't hurt as well. Archers are just too weak. They have strong attack, but they can't dish out what they serve. So 2 or 3 maybe enough. What about a 4-3-2 team? Scipio, Arminius, Huo, and Anthony Pompey, Crassus, Labienus Drusus and Octavian This works too. I'd pick mithridates over Octavian tho.

Having to worry about fighting a smaller (but a desirable) target, always having high morale, and always 10% crit rate makes him more desirable to me. Plus I can give him the dreaded counterattack scroll. I am curious about drusus though

Mithridates can have a potentially higher crit rate than Octavian. Drusus is Drusus. His talent made him. All he needs is a crossbow or Pompey gladius and he'll be ready

Might get both drusus and octavian. Don’t roast me too hard but I kinda don’t want crassus because he can’t attack twice. He is very good, but he wouldn’t fit in well with crompey, pompey, and spartacus

Crompey just scored a strategic victory against Crassus, despite being on an inferior unit against a numerically superior force. This is but a fraction of the true power he will yet possess.

Crassus was simply holding back As he was against Surena during the Battle of Carhae True. He's actually still alive today. The CIA paid off the Parthians so he could fake his own death.

cojoncio, for a speed runner like you, Pompey, Crassus, and Antony are absolutely essential. Vercingetorix is super helpful in campaigns and expeditions, so maybe keep him around for a while if you're struggling, but if medals are a problem then Bato or Labienus un-upgraded will suffice. Other silver and bronze generals who have march are also worth considering.

Should I trade in Pacorus for Commius? Because, as you all have said... huo doesn’t even compare to hannibal. Which leaves arminius vs commius into the fold. Commius has 2 overpowered skills (guerilla and siege) and also an overpowered talent. Arminius on the other hand was guerilla + garrison (idc, -8% damage when attacking is still useful and consistent, although not game changing), and assualt + jungle + charge for damage. Plus he is one of the best generals from campaign. Who do you think is better?
I have pedius and caesar as archers and they both suck terribly, so don’t even recommend me another archer.

Commius requires a lot of medals to be fully operative . Btw you still can have both of them (if you have almost 500 spare medals).

Get Huo. Get Huo. Commius's skill levels are painfully low. His average damage output isn't as high as you think because of his trash rank, and Huo's crits make him a top gen.
