After killing all of the green ships they get the morale loss and swarm my ships. They destroy my ships while doing so as I'm outnumbered 15 to 1 and I lose the battle with them having about 12 ships left. It happens every time. I need a lot of help on this mission. The guide didn't work.

Your weakness may lie in your units' base stats still being too low.

He spams generals even for easy missions so may be hard to keep track for ppl with none... well there is the general strategy at least

I just got 3 stars using no generals, but with max tech. So I’m sure you’re able to do it if you’re using generals.
The trick is to reduce the enemys damage output as much as possible. What I did was to focus down the targeted units. Once you kill all three they get a double morale debuff. After that you flank as many enemies as possible and then hit as hard as you can. Also prioritize frigates and ships of the line over corvettes as those units can hit you without getting countered.

If you have generals with high battle ability, put then in the ships. They will do fine. You don’t need any navy generals for this. The rest of the campaign is easy. Scorched Earth is harder than the others, but it’s manageable.

I am not sure what is the obsession of no generals, it's like running with no shoes. They are part of the game and excluding IAP, anyone can get them. I log daily and build medals that allowed me the gens.
Said that, I just need to finish the last 4 missions of Crimean War , then I will start uploading No Generals guides starting from Athos (indeed the strategy outline above is spot on. Focus on the targets and then leverage morale drop

we all started from the same level (unless you poured in iaps and gotten masses of generals ofc) and struggled through the missions with sub-optimal strategies and little to no generals, but the more we progress the less sensitized we feel to beginners as opposed to ourselves with more experience and definitely sufficient end game gens

A strategy that works with the worst techs and the least amount of generals works for a strategy with max tech and maxed generals, while the same can't be said the other way around. I also wish I could reverse the tech upgrades like in GCR so that I could have tried it out at minimum tech. Having maxed tech using no generals is like having a general on every unit at minimum tech.

ye, well playing on mods really grants you a clean slate where you can upgrade tech freely and get any gen with unlimited medals, just so that you can be in that particular situation for your readers of your guides
