We know that troop's performance are affected by their morale.Unlike WC3,we have 'confusion' which means the enemy under confusion cant move/retaliate.And here's my problem,I totally surrounded an enemy with my calvary and his morale was just one stage higher than confusion. I attacked the enemy and its morale got better which means like at first there were 2 arrows pointing down. After that it became one.Is it normal?

I see this quite often and this likely resulted from the random chance to gain morale. I THINK such cases happen when troops engage in battle and the outcome is favourable (the defender taking minimal dmg and dealing high counterattack dmg in your case). Then, there should be a chance for the unit to gain a morale boost.

How odd.I've been thinking that morale boost happens only when you kill a unit under such conditions or occupying key buildings(campaign)

ambitiousace,it could be when that unit killed of a unit, which means a morale boost (though not everytime)

Its the same effect as when you have a good attack and the units morale improves. I have never seen this happen from capturing a facility. A good way to clear your generals morale drop is to have them finish off a weakened unit.

Yes, it seems like killing off an enemy has about 1 in 3 chance of boosting your morale.

This happens often in my medal grinding save in which I have a bunch of cities encircled with armored cars.
I think itβs a bug due to the new unit starting with -2 morale, so a cavalry charge resets it and lowers it again to -1.

How exact morale works? Still mysterious. I believe there at least two levels of morale high: Moving with morale high into a flanked hex lowers sometimes the morale and sometimes not (and it is not random - same save - same behavior) As much as I understand: 1. flanking -1 morale 2. flanking -2 morale 3. flanking -2 morale A cavalry charge is necessary to cause panic. After (1,2,3 ) rounds encircled the enemy should get in panic too - is this correct? Morale high can come even from a fight nearby: Without any action a unit can get high morale from a lucky fight on a neibourgh hex.

After a certain number of kills or events the stats such as damage goes up and goes down when it is flanked or surrounded.

Interesting, I have noticed that sometimes moving with high morale into a flank lowers it and sometimes it doesnβt. This is also true of generals with leadership.

I think Morale has 6 levels: Double up Up Normal Down Double down Confused
A successful attack boosts your morale by two levels. So down can go to up on a successful attack.

A cavalry charge is necessary to cause panic. No. It is necessary to cause confusion. If we flank from all sides, it induces panic (double morale drop I assume)
Yes. Many times I experienced that there will be a morale increase when a flanked unit gets killed

The two posts directly above are what the EFC's members believe to be ET's use of Morale and skills/abilities that lower them across most of its games. It's fairly consistent, just that identifying a 2X morale increase has always been a problem.
