I think Morale has 6 levels: Double up Up Normal Down Double down Confused A successful attack boosts your morale by two levels. So down can go to up on a successful attack. But you can go from double down to up after killing a unit

Wime recovers low morale and confusion (and can be used only then )
Alcohol brings the unit always on 'double' high.
A try - to discuss:
A lucky punch or a kill can give a unit (or to the neighbor) a single or a double morale up.

Also, I've never seen more than two units get a morale up at the same time after killing a unit.

I did not notice 2 units raising morale for one fight: Β»(or to the neighbor)Β« it just recently happened again: - I thought what a unexpected good hit - no kill. A nearby standing (allied iirc) cavalry went on high morale - and not for flanking! Looking at Sakurako: - no morale up. Anyway: Fighting for and with your ally seems to be somehow registered I believe. If there are two morale up, I can confirm from my Eylau gymnasium: From normal morale, the raise for a kill can be randomly 1up or 2up.. I assume (for now) this will be also for lower morale the case.

So is that supposed to be random? Or maybe their gaining confidence by the performance of other units

So is that supposed to be random? Or maybe their gaining confidence by the performance of other units All these things are very hard to prove when there is a random factor inflicted: it is really amazing how many records you need to get a statistical average for dmg (ie: 20 records are never enough!) and the personal bias for 'noticing' game-mechanics can't be undervalued. Statistical it is not extraordinary that Diez doesn't show up for 10, even for 20 rounds. If it happens to you, it feels unbelievable. So my impession! is: By eleminating a thread of my ally, I can lower his invisible anger, and steal his cities with a lower risk of loosing him. That this worked out for me until now, is no confimrm. Not even an incident to be real.

You can steal more from allies by stealing in many rounds, rather than a single round. I learnt it the hard way

Iβve never noticed that you can raise nearby troops morale by killing a unit. Is this definitely true?

Iβve never noticed that you can raise nearby troops morale by killing a unit. Is this definitely true? Me too, lol Definitely, I noticed it a few times, mostly after a lucky punch. The last, just a few days ago (like I wrote, but I think it was with Maria and not Sakurako). I just saved before, so for sure the nearby was not on high morale before. And my princess didn't got the boost. After posting here, my first! played flanking in 3 Emporers, encircling Vienna: - neutral (no fight) - 1. flanking β¬2. flanking β¬ no change ? 3. flanking β¬β¬Any Idea why ?

Most likely that the guards there destoryed a unit of yours and it increased there morale back to normal.

Same round, I just move my troops. You the WorldFastestModder and found even the medikit numbers for me. So I must ask you Darth Vader: Do you know, how morale is coded in btl-files, are there maybe even more levels?

I don't think there can be anymore levels because I have never seen anymoreΒ than ever. Or is there an easter egg I believe that morale works more like terrain for it reduces damage by a percent rather then removing damage points becuase napoleon flanked twice still does 40 damage while a normal light Artillery does 20 damage. Morale is also encoded in the map files becuase in many campaigns the morale goes up or down after a certain event.
