Which general is best overall in terms of movement, health, damage and cost? Scharnhost or Grouchy?

Which general is best overall in terms of movement, health, damage and cost? Scharnhost or Grouchy? Scharnhorst by a wide margin overall Accurate + Engineering (2 best artillery skills) and 3 training stars make him rather strong. He's also a trainer, so if you ever decide to buy a bunch of artillery comms or get them as princesses (Moreau, Sophia, Isabela) you can regroup him |

Grouchy is a bit grouchy right now because he is no longer preferred.

Scharny edges Grouchy as accurate>ballistics.Marmont has explosives which is also better.War expert can be ignored as we can just grind ourselves.Plus,Scharny is a Trainer.So think about it.Even gazan or kutaisov can do Grouchy's job just fine.

If I get Isabela (who starts off at 3* artillery) I want to be able to regroup one arty general (who is presumably a pretty high rank() into Isabela to get that rank bonus and 4* in artillery. Heck, if you want a tier 1 arty gen who is a trainer, go get Kutaisov or Gazan |

Why get grouchy at all honestly. Give marmont an oak wheel and you have grouchy with explosives. He is just a massive waste and thats putting it mildly. There is also carteux who has siege instead of explosives.

A gen who has other easily available options is not necessarily one worth investing in, especially if those other options are cheaper or make more sense |

Regroup a trainer into a different general to gain stars. A trainer is a general with a orange skill that says (unit type) trainer. These are essentially non permanent generals for the most part that will regroup into a different general to make them stronger. I would not train scharnhorst as he is a trainer himself. I would rather regroup him either isabella or sophia later on once you have both. His flaws are fixable with items (one oak wheel and some powder will fix his issues). The cheapest trainers are found in a first tier. There are many posts on this forum, like kanue’s, that describe the trainer’s that exist and their price. My currently in progress review of all the generals in ew4 has basically color representations of the good trainers and the bad ones. Good luck! |

Archery target is your training skills.(The max is 5..The mechanism is every star starting from one allows general to level up from the one's level below him,for example,Davout has got 3 training stars so the maximum rank I can level him up is to level 4) |
