I just finished "Retreat of the Empire" in Imperial Eagle campaign in 17 turns (3 turns less than required) with Sophia and Golitsyn. I had completed the "invasion of Russia" in 22 turns, 1 turn more than required for 5 stars with the same generals. But a lot of people are saying that the "retreat of the empire" is harder than the invasion of Russia. What are your opinions?

In my very first run, I found Expedition Russia to be harder.
In subsequent runs, I somehow found Retreat of Empire to not only be harder, but also to be frustratingly difficult to clear. This makes me hesitate if I ever have to rerun the game and play Retreat of Empire early on again.

I just attempted "coalition disruption" and thought I was going to win. After killing Blucher, I was waiting for the victory sign. Then I saw that I had to take Berlin too.... The Prussians just spammed cavalry and artillery to block my way. Atleast Golitsyn got alot of training- he was on an armoured car and literally could kill light infantry in a single round!

To me,Retreat Of The Empire doesn't make any sense at all..The objective is CLEARLY out of the title.Starting off with fatally wounded Napolean and burnt farms And the game requires us to take out well equiped generals with such disadvantages instead of actually RETREATING.The title should be maybe I'll retreat but after a counterattack.I don't find any of these two hard for me tho.

Well, If the only objective was to retreat back to Paris, I would have been really easy. We are surrounded by enemy generals, therefor we can only retreat safely after defeating them.

I think it's supposed to be symbolic of the series of battles the Grande Armée fought in the way back. According to Wikipedia (on the main Russian Campaign page: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_invasion_of_Russia?wprov=sfla1 ), there were 4 battles fought on the final French retreat from Moscow.

I get your point there. It would make more sense if the enemies are below us cutting our retreating point

No, since most of the Russian army retreated from Moscow to St. Petersberg and beyond. However, It would have been better in the GAME if the Austrians were cutting our escape route, and we would have to cut through them with the help of the Polish before the Russians reinforcements arrived to crush us.The Russians should have had fewer troops as we already crushed most of their army at Borodino and the subsequent battles.
