Only once or twice I used more than two infantry generals in this game. In challenges there are no bans for specific type of generals so you need only 3 infantry generals for campaigns and challenges, preferably 2 with plain fighting and 1 with forest/mountain combo.

Ahaha conveniently left Bismarck out of the equation though he's the focus of the thread... and yes I have long thrown out Esperey

To conclude Bismark discussion: I wouldn't use him if they gave him to me fully upgraded ☺

To conclude Bismark discussion: I wouldn't use him if they gave him to me fully upgraded ☺ I honestly don't really know why Bismarck is considered good in this game. Haig is just about as cheap and significantly better. And then you can get Boroevic in case you want to use Heavy Machine Gunners and leave infantry at that. Even in history mode he's not that great because the Prussian levels are easy.

Robert E Lee starts off way worse than bismarck imo. But you are right, haig is far superior. Inspiration is decent and not worth wasting 10 textbooks on anyway

Gonna give grant assualt, phillip sheridan jungle fighting instead of cover, and going to retry. I just can’t stand the sight of Grant sucking so badly, doesn’t feel right you know. Prussian levels aren’t that bad i agree. I just had only a partially upgraded moltke and besseler when I tried so I got stomped. I really wish I could use ludendorf in the mission.

I gave Haig infantry commander instead of urban fighting. I left inspiration because I am not sure if tactics master is a good idea for infantry general.

It depends what are you using it for, I mostly to defend my units and clean up normal units. For cleaning up tactics master is really useful because you can two hit most units. For attacking generals it isn’t that good because you will loose too much hp

If I started the game from the tomorrow's update I would do many things differently. But the epilogue would be the same so it's not important ☺ I would buff up Sheridan and Stonewall, my first two generals would be Beseler and Hindenburg and so on and so on☺

Cavlary on artillery is a big no no☺

Yeah with bismarck, macmahon and haig are better so he is kind of out of the equation. He is good just not enough.
