wow they stack in the prequel. Thats pretty overpowered Yeah. We had up to 3 auras together at a time, and even the miltia hit for over 100 damage in that pack.

wow they stack in the prequel. Thats pretty overpowered They also worked differently. In 1804 they added a raw +20 atk to the unit. In 1914 they add a cumulative +20% attack to your general atk multiplier. So yeah, aura was WAY better in the prequel. That said, I still found them slightly overrated because Aura-stacking requires a large investment of general slots and resources. 100 damage militia was probably the worst idea. I mean, you need to use 3 infantry generals at one place and spam militia. Which are slow as a snail, really frail (and thus not cost-efficient), and totally useless against cities. Super inefficient. Artillery aura was also pretty bad for similar reasons. What I mostly did in the prequel is using cav teams of 2-3 generals, preferably with an aura general on each team. Or having three cav auras together to hit really hard at a point and then diverge. I also used artillery generals solo to support them vs high lv cities.

Gents, who should be my first navy gen; Beatty or Hipper? I've noticed there is a lot of praise for Beatty here, but I've also noticed there is no discussion thread for Hipper (nor is he included in most "general list"), so I assume he is pretty new and thus not included in this top 3 list.
My main reason for getting a navy general is that I know I will have a hard time with the British campaign. Sea warfare has never been my strongest side, and I've even had difficulties with the few navy missions in the German campaign already.

Reason is that, theres no reason. Both are equally competent and its up to personal choice who you would want to get first

How should I upgrade my generals with my finite amount of gold? Should I invest in items, upgrade their skills or upgrade their rank/nobility?
