I just thought that the number needed "is the same as the other", aka the same amount of caval stars needed for Cleo. It works!

Which gen should I raise next? My current generals are: Cleopatra/Himiko (both 9, not going to raise more). Ma Chao (8) Zhuge Liang (8) Lu Bu (8) Fa Zheng (4) Huang Zhong (8) Zhao Yun (3) Guan Yu (4) Cao Cao (6) Sun Ce (6) Taishi Ci (5) Liu Bei (8) Zhou Yu (5) Lu Meng (3)

Hmm. If I keep using cleopatra, maybe I should upgrade her to majesty, she appears to be in the cheaper 2 tier. (Loww priority, Busy getting taishi ci arrow blizzard)
Maybe it would be best to show the ones you are using. I assume not using cao cao.
If using sun ce, I think his damage is not too high but Im using him and his third skill ignores demoralization if you get it. Taishi ci learns that too, I taught him second but when using on flame catapult its nice he can ignore anything. Damn zhuge gets demoralized and I have to use cao or bei on him.
I think my order would be Taishi to skill 3, sun ce to skill 3. Out of the generals I know you are using.
I dunno about lu meng or zhou yu. Your zhou yu is closer to nobleman, but rapidly is probably better skill. At this point that comes down to the whole package. Zhou yu is first tier archer, so I dont really think lu meng has much to offer as a three skill infantryman. But dont trust me, Id be the first to tell you I suck (Im not the worst, to be fair)

I'm looking forward to the red gens thingy, so I don't know what red Taishi Ci can offer. Maybe I'll just get Guan Yu up a bit first.

You are using guan yu? He is my first general, Good for killing towers, I have only unlocked his 3rd skill. I cant say who is better, as I gave Lu Bu a dragon blade, so his damage is artificially higher. Guan focuses on killing towers when red, Bu on using strike. Or so i have heard.
I believe that red taishi Ci upgrades arrow blizzard to hitting 3 enemies. Dont know how often, as my only blizzard general is currently Fa Zheng who targets one enemy more often than not. Maybe the reddening also increases chance to activate, I dunno.
When I unlock red generals, I plan to upgrade Liu bei. Gets full infantry stars, and super rescue. But that's just me. Going to use all my ram horns and water hooks, break out gan Ning and Himiko, and hope I can get past national unification 2 part one.

......I just tried it. Got my butt kicked. wiped out all of Wus navy generals, then had only Liu Bei left, though he did not last long with a sliver of health. And this was at turn 13, with 3 stars only possible at 14.
I wonder if I can "beat" it with, say, two stars. Then get to the new missions and unlock red generals. And at some point come back to it. Of course, I have to turn my total defeat into a two star victory first.
Come on sima shi. Dont say we can compete with the Navy of Sun Wu and then show up with a bunch of 1 star navy generals. (Mebbe one with 2, big deal)
Suggestions for how to do the mission would be nice, but not a big deal I guess.

Normal or Elite? Cuz I already completed it normal.

I'm using: Liu Bei (Royal Guard)(Healer/Support) Zhuge Liang (Flame Catapult) Huang Zhong (Master Archer) Taishi Ci (Master Archer/Crossbowman) Fa Zheng (Master Archer)(Healer) Ma Chao (Chariot) Sun Ce (Chariot) Guan Yu (Royal Cav) Lu Bu (Royal Cav)
For pure/mostly naval missions I changed to this: Sun Ce, Taishi Ci, Liu Bei, Fa Zheng, Zhuge Liang (with Hellfire), Guan Yu and add Zhou Yu, Himiko. The last one depends (e.g. If I need to land on a fortified city I'll pick Lu Bu/Ma Chao to help out, If I just need to eliminate ships I might pick Lu Meng).
Guan Yu's and Lu Bu's damage on towers is very high! And Ma Chao shreds through regular infantries!

Yeah elite. I had trouble completing it on normal, but elite is another thing altogether. I went slow with Zheng and Bei healing, and tried to demoralizing each enemy general through 2 on either side. I gave Himiko war drum (loses no attack when wounded) so she did the most damage.
I was able to get several generals on the island to kill the land general, but only by turn 19, the final turn to get 2 stars. I hope the next level is as easy in comparison as it was in normal. My forces: Liu Bei , Zhuge Liang (master archer) Taishi Ci (flame catapult) Guan Yu, Lu Bu, cleopatra, Sun Ce, Cao Cao.
When In navy I get rid of Lu Bu, cao cao, and cleopatra. I replace them with Gan Ning, Himiko, and maybe Zhu Ran (has 4 navy and iron wall, but is only lieutenant with 28 health)
I have Lu Bu on royal Cavalry, with Dragon Blade and War drum. He is a beast, and as long as he has health is a grave threat to my foes.

Either Lu Bu for cavalry or Zhuge Liang for archer.

yep, good choices Yi Sun Sin . Lu Bu when not fully upgraded is also a archer general, as he has full archer stars and one archer skill. If you get him, get diao chan (I think in third tier) you get an achievement that gives you more jade than she costs. Upgrade her a little and she gets chaos a good skill. you can also sell her for 150 jade if you dont care about breaking up the "perfect couple" You may be right about dillemma, but I think my only ordinary general with it is Sun Ce, and dillemma seems a poor prize for upgrading from lvl 8 to 12. BTW, tried first level of tangled warfare. boss has super thunder, and I swear he can hit me from several fields away. That cant be normal.

Do I need to complete every elite campaign to get to that mission you said? Or just last level?
Btw now I'm preparing to defeat Wu in conquest. Only capital Jian Ye left. Zhuge Liang's hell fire helps a lot in naval missions.

you can see new missions after completing every (or maybe just last) mission in normal. However you must complete national unification 2 part 2 on elite to get to the first new mission. I currently have not completed wu kingdom 1-2 part 2, or national uni 1 part 2. (not because I cant, just havent)
Jian ye is difficult. I failed several times. I tried to break through by crossing land to the west, but succeeded by simply powering right through the center.
Tangled Warfare part 1 is the hardest yet. The boss hits for 170 damage every 2 turns. I tried to fire at him in his castle with Fa Zheng, then retreat for healing, but he shoots farther than Zheng can move! ran out of time with one general left on my side. guess I better just save jade for machine crossbow and arrow blizzard.
I played the google doodle today. you play a black cat fighting ghosts. some ghosts you have to draw a lighting bolt. Then an actual one hits them! Made me thing of the tangled warfare boss. Thunder, Thunder!
