Honestly a bit weird how no one has said Guard Cavalry. It’s basically a way cheaper tank that can actually fight. But it doesn’t trump Guard Sipahi Cavalry. Mamluks were OP in 1806 and sipahis are basically mamluks but worse, which is still OP. I don’t even care that they’re not worth spawning because Ottomans always starts with enough Sipahis. Like they have like 6 at the start in 1914 and they’re pretty much invincible unless you get them killed in the ocean. Yeah, I think Guard Cavalry is better than tank, It’s not only a bunker buster(almost immune to bunker attack because it’s armor not plate one)and also it’s also a Infantry killer too. I like Guard Cavalry in both game. |

The Krupp Cannon is really powerful. When I put Ivanov with Pierce on one, it’s pretty devastating. The Flamethrower troops are a close second. They absolutely wreck artillery when you put a General on one.

Old Guards are still the most overpowered units. Spam a group of them and they will stomp thru an area no questions asked France 1815... I still remember playing as Brazil and taking the Americas over while France blitzed through Europe and I gave occasional lend-lease to Naples and Italy. |

Honestly, Old Guards and Guard Cavalry are still very strong. Main reason why I had so much fun with France 1861.
