Chemistry is among the infamous weed out classes here in the us (most notorius ones are calc 1, calc 2, statics, dynamics, and physics). Basically a weed out class is a needlessly hard class at the university, in other words where the material is extremely easy but the tests and exams are ridiculously hard. But if you go to community college, you get to learn the same material but the course will be half as hard. I imagine that its the same way in your country. Congrats on the 250$ tuition per semester. That is incredibly cheap, especially considering that even community college is about 2000$ per semester. Universities here in the us can be up to 50000$ per year, which is very ridiculous to say the least. But if you come from a poor background (for example, live by yourself and earn a minimum wage while working part-time) you get to go to college for free. CC can also be free if you go there right after high school if you do a particular program. A fantastic deal tbh.

The one i am going to is cheap because its owned by state.

And if you actually pursue a degree like the recommendation says (classes required to finish in 4 years), you are going to have 6 weed out classes each semester freshmen and sophomore year. It is very hard to say the least

According to what you guys have said I'm glad about not having to take chemistry anymore since I barely passed AP physics.

I took mine at cc and got an easy a even tho I got a d on the first exam, and even got exempt from the final. The same passes for Calc 1 and Calc 2. From my university, I heard that both calc i and especially calc ii are basically impossibly hard classes and that they are hell. And this is coming from people who took calc bc in high school lmao. So they are learning the same material twice

What I am doing is becoming an engineer (similar to mechanical) with a physics minor (planning on taking modern physics, thermal physics, intermediate electricty and magnetism I and II, and quantum mechanics i and ii). So i get all of the good stuff from the physics major without having to waste any time on some of the unnecessary things like chem ii, the final research project, while also knowing many fundamental engineering principles as well.

Well you still have quite a bit of time to get it all figured out. I also enjoyed history very much growing up, but ultimately i decided to major in engineering as i was good at math, while learning as much history as I could off of the web

It boils down to your career interests more, for me both my passion and my dream career falls comfortably within the humanities, so that where I ventured. You might want to try to come up with clear career goals and aspirations early
