Overrated Generals:
McClellan: McClellan, though not incompetent, is overly cautious in the war and did not perform well in the peninsula campaign, however he did had a successful retreat from Virginia despite losing, and also halted Lee's advance into Maryland in the battle of Antietam. Hotzendorf: Hotzendorf is a war monger, but he is not a good strategist or tactician. His overall incompetence costed Austria the war, yet Easytech made him the best artillery general (before the update at least)
Underrated Generals:
Sherman: Sherman was one of the few Union commanders that are actually very successful, his capture of Atlanta and the subsequent march to the sea demoralised the Confederates.
Grant: He was good in the last game but now he's almost useless? This guy is the most successful Union commander in the Civil War and he is the one who defeated Lee! (Though with massive casualties)
Stuart: Though he is not as famous as Stonewall Jackson or Robert E. Lee, he was quite a competent general and expertly managed Jackson's forces after Jackson's injury even though he was not experienced at commanding Infantry
Mackensen: He suffered the same fate as Radetsky, both are great generals but both were abandoned by Easytech. He was the only commander who was always successful in WW1. (Marasesti does not count as is was just a roadbump to the inevitable end to the Romanian war effort)
What other generals do you think ET overlooked?

^ couldnt agree more with Grant and McClellan. Was appalled at how respectively disadvantaged and buffed those two were!

I say:
Alexei Brusilov: Arguably the best Russian general in WW1. He was well known for his famous Brusilov Offensive. Brusilov Offensive achieved it's biggest goal which was to drive German attention from Verdun. In addition Brusilov Offensive inflicted heavy casualties to Austria Hungary. Unfortunately, in game his skills are not adequate for what he have done.
Mustafa Kemal Atatürk: There is a lot to say about him. He is one of the best generals of WW1. He was a good tactician and also a brilliant strategist. He voluntarily went to fight the Italians in Tripolitania. He proved himself in Gallipoli then Eastern Anatolia. In Syrian Front he managed to save the rest of the army after Battle of Megiddo. He successfully led a War of Independence and found the Turkish Republic. I do not even want to talk about his skills in game. Easytech really underrated him.

The fact that Haig and Beatty got such good stats Haig never really got out of the 19th century until 1918, and even then it was mainly the other generals such as Henry Rawlinson who modernised the tactics of the British Army. David Lloyd George wanted him out and it was pretty obvious why. Was pretty bad tbh Beatty was responsible for using his Battlecruisers wrongly at Jutland and failed to communicate properly to Jellicoe the fact that he was being chased by the High Seas Fleet when he was steaming towards Jellicoe. He was pretty bad and ruined Jellicoe’s career. He really didn’t deserve such good stats as well.

But overall, yeah they really underrated him.

Fallenhayn, imo should have been an arty gen and afaik he is inf? He started the Verdun slaughter and almost check mated the French, the troops were thirsty and hungry, add constant artillery bombardment, the French werent sure how to reply to the assaults with static defences being taken or destroyed, until Petain saved the day
I think Stepa Stepanovic is overrated, okay sure the common narrative is that Serbia kicked out the Austro-Hungarians, but you have to think of the Radl affair, and the Serbs had a good -key word- defensive position, alongside a lot of foreign military aid and AH didnt mobilize, and he isnt the *best* cav gen but he is too good to be made to be honest
Imo ET should have made some skills for a few gens only that are talented in "guerilla fighting" like Vorbeck
Boroevic has been done badly, he seems so ineffective whenever used, he was good irl, a model and the only slavic field marshal in AH that fought in the most difficult terrain, it was all Mountains, it was easy for some gens to gain glory while fighting on the plains of Russia

The fact they withstood 3 invasions is incredible really

They also had intel because or the Radl or Raedl affair on invasion plans both Russia and Serbia

I agree that Stepanovic is overrated, yes Serbia defeated the first offensive in 1914 but that was with as many soldiers (~ 400,000) as the enemy. And yes, Serbia did not have perfect equipment, but Austria also certainly did not. And the deciding factor for me is: in 1915 Serbia was defeated by the central powers and the army had to retreat to Thessaloniki by albania. That is not a surprise, but in the meantime Serbia had lost a huge number of people (27% of the population) and just throwing in a lot of people is not a strategy.

To be fair, the Bulgarian entrance into the war meant everything was over by then. The Serbians had massed all their forces against Austria, suffered quite high casualties, and then fighting against a fresh Army was impossible. The Great War channel talks about 3 invasions, but I may be mistaken

I see they can‘t even make decisive battles with Hochseeflotte and Flotte is anchor in Wilhelmshaven wait for another engage, maybe If he more competent WWI would be end sooner I believe.

The Great War channel talks about 3 invasions, but I may be mistaken Bulgarians they play very big gamble If they win wwi they would create Greater Bulgaria For sure and become powerhouse in the region then you can wait to see fourth Balkan war with European powerhouses intervene. However their population and economy would be in ruin because they send all male adult people into battle which in would cost them a lot Pension to pay those veterans and about economic if too many people in the economy plunge to the worst mean no worker in factory and something else.

What have they done to my boy Garibaldi? Why is he only a 3 skill general? His skills aren't even that good. Moltke is also underrated as well as the usual suspects most of you mentioned.
Overrated you have said most of them already.
