In the Conquest page, there is a button on the top, next to the label 'Conquest', to switch to Challenge mode (just like in Campaign). This button, however, is currently disabled so it is likely that this 'Challenge Conquest' thing will be available in the future update. As for the detail, I have no idea. Maybe, a conquest with some additional rules and AI has better tech upgrades. I am actually look forward to this 'Challenge Conquest' since with our current tech upgrades, the current 18xx conquests are a kind of trivial. Imagine having a no gens 1917, up to the challenge? Oh, not to mention that the AI has superior technology past your own limit too. No way man, thats suicide, unless your ally ai is also good that they can assist you 100%.

I think, in Challenge conquest, they will increase the size of map which is indeed challenging.Think about a conquest like WC4 but it is highly unlikely. Also, enemy may have got additional defensive Fortifications across the territory. Or they have given some set of rules like " Victory rounds no more than 50 turns" or " Produced Navy no less than 10 " or " Killed generals less than 01" etc

Virtually impossible given that the allied AI in ET games is notorious for being incompetent and even problematic.

No worries, you can get Ivanov as your third general too. Having 3 artillery generals is the optimum. You know what, instead of Macmahon and Johnston, I’m getting Hindenburg and Plumer as tertiary generals.
