On artillery, accurate (or better, siege + explosive) alone + 4 stars in movement makes any artillery general great. After that, everything else is icing on the cake. The best skill that could be added is leadership to make an artillery general even better. Then afterwards, engineering, explosive, spy, assualt art, or ... are good additions.
So Ushakov with maxed artillery stars is quite a great artillery general as he will pass the requirements with some regrouping. Sakurako is a great artillery general. Nelson is a fantastic artillery general.

Yeah sorry berthier is so ugly. With maxed stars and a output item, he always kills the city unit garrison of 60 hp, sometimes even hits up to 80 damage. His damage is really good and pretty consistent, so he is on par with lan. He also has high trading stars and good training stars making him fantastic for cavarly. But depending on a conditions, the player may not need him. For 4 slot players, you have to max him pre getting lan. But even though, you will sacrifice Lan’s potential star abilities. All the way, you could just get Golitsyn who is berthier without geography. He is quite great but it really depends on circumstances whether or not you should get him. IAP wise there better choices with geography for cavalry - so f2p player will think about Berthier (I was interested too) He will look amazing after all the regrouping - but the campaign offers 7000-7500 medals over all - make your count (price + trainers + 2 saddles + snair) - even if you buy him early - I don't think that a f2p arrives in time to bring him to max. Or you need weeks of farming just for him.

And you can buy a war horse besides and that will give you geography without worrying about buying and regrouping Berthier all the time

There is sadly no one w. geography + strike even. Though Poniatowski, Lannes, and Davout are still excellent buys as they bring hybrid potential to the table. I think you could get him maxed within a week if thats all you spent it on.

Berthier + Flintlock >>> Golitsyn + War Horse Berthier’s damage is extremely consistent with a flintlock. In fact, i’d say his average on heavy cavarly is in the 70’s. So when compared to sakurako, he has surprise and geography, so he is actually way better. In comparison to golitsyn, he will have 5 trading stars geography and 3 training stars. He is worth putting up with if you have all of the iap slots but no iaps themselves. He is a huge pain I agree.

He is a huge pain I agree. 👍🏼 I still will keep an eye on him - two saddles I have already - for the great plains in US conquest.

Sulkowski Price: 3 Emblems or 850 Medals Type of General: Cavarly Starting Movement: 4 hexes on light cavarly, 3 hexes on horse grenadiers Sulkowski is a fantastic buy for 850 medals. None of his skills are bad, he is a trainer, and he is no stars wasted general. Every star he possesses, you will use. Will strike does not complement spy well, with the exception of when the ai builds forts on hills, it allows him to multitask as a powerful general in unit v unit combat, while being able to absolutely destroy any fortresses nearby. His only con is that you will have to use him on horse grenadiers which are expensive. Otherwise, he is far better purchase then ney as strike > siege + mobility, and he is also a trainer. Strongly recommended as a temporary general. He could be my first general. He is (if I'm correct) the only one with the combination strike + spy what make's him probably the best general on Armored Car as he can compensate the weakness of mgun against forts. With saddle and warhorse he will move 4hex - And a trainer! Wow!

Also if you put him on guard carvery, he will easily destory any type of fort in your way. Plus strike and spy go perfect together!

Apart that Armored car has most times the highest base output it deals additional +35% to infantry and +45% to cavalry - this is the reason why I prefer to wait until I can build them I quickly gain the lost round(s) with fast combats - the only pain is: -20% to forts - but with spy it will be +20% to forts - for this reason he seems for me the perfect driver I'm looking for. Sophia is the other candidate - but she has only SM instead of strike (imo not so much less for conquests - and Sulkovski is even a cav trainer)

She is very good. Yes Lan is fantastic special on my preference single armored car - she can deal more than 100 to anyone - but small forts are a pain 50-60 with luck (ships equal - but rare) - for this I want to try a cavalry general with spy on armored car. I have already seven slots (the 7th to keep Fatima) - IMO really not much for the fun I had already - I'm sure I will get a few more.slots...

Also if you put him on guard carvery, he will easily destory any type of fort in your way. Plus strike and spy go perfect together! Strike and Spy don’t work together, but it’s a still a good combination for a variable role. Strike instead of Surprise is the reason he doesn’t deal Murat’s record damage against forts because strike has no effect on them. Therefor he is better against cities and all units with evasion than the posterboy. Since you will face more units than forts I prefer Sulkowski’s compromise over Murat’s specialization.
