All Conquest Challenges are of the same difficulty. Likewise, this means 1861 is as hard as 1917 in terms of AI and technology. You cannot even depend on your allies as although they are slightly more buffed than their non challenge counterpart (France's tank deals 95 in challenge rather than 91 in the non-challenge version), they are still inferior than your enemies. Aside from having to deal with your front, lend leasing allies will be on a whole new level of priorities. However, one thing that I had noticed is that your their mobility (at least in 1917) is 1 level higher than them, so at least you have that advantage. This is basically the terrorists from WC4 in a nutshell. at least we can use more generals, 10 gens now (for iap 12 gens) True but a good strategy is required, like guerrilla tactics etc. And the attack of enemy is faster than before. |

You are first to move, as the always normal. But in terms of tech and firepower, the enemy most of the time will got you first, before you can even try to get them. |

Whichever side you're on, your opponent will get the buff more than what you can usually handle,and act way smarter.Allies on the other hand will fiht like a three years old

Im crying now with my Greece 1865 conquest, what started off as a deceptively easy conquest soon turned into utter annihilation when all my allies crumbled
Now hoping to stay alive and defeat Prussia with Moltke, Stepanovic, Plumer and Jackson, all at 20-40 hp. At least that will buy me some time before I get wiped out by UK and Spain

I managed to do confederates in 47 turns but that required a lot of luck in the form of Perรน randomly losing is capital in the early game. I bribed it out of the battle and won enough time to secure northern America before french-cuban Attack
