I think all the epic wonders can be considered achivements. The price for that is enormous - I assume the payback time is around 50-70 years, means You could finish the game without refunding the expenditures and it makes it reasonable to be built only as an achivements.

In case You are really fond of the game (like EW4 for instance) and will play it from time to time all the way, maybe it is more reasonable to focus on upgrading the HQ first for a comfortable play only after that start saving for the epic wonders. What do You think?

Woah woah woah, in addition to space achievements and the NATO/WTO campaign there's an alien thing, the so called alien thing having to do with the ion cannon? I thought the Ion Cannon was just some mega-weapon the different nations and alliances were working towards, like the atom bomb. Of course it being fiction, but nonetheless.
