I was thinking "What if they had the EW5 conquest system, but on a larger scale". This is it.

Man, I have so many questions related to this game, that I can't wait to be answered once it comes out!
Is the max limit of units set or does it depend on the number of hexes in your region? Can you split up/rearrange army groups? And what constitutes a capture (is it always destroying all troops or is it sometimes capturing certain objectives)?

Actual scouting! I was worried about fog of war since I've never ever seen it being done well in ET games (or any turn based strategy game that's not randomized for that matter). Unfortunately it looks like it's still more optimal to trail and error it in case scouting costs resources that are better spent elsewhere, but this is a step in the right direction. Now we don't need to randomly lose our generals because we ran into a death trap we couldn't have known were there on our first play!

I hope the game isn't a P2Win game or not too hard

Based on watching the most recent video, GOG3 feels like it is GOG's actual sequel (sorry, GOG2). The mechanics here look like they are from the original two, but the real deal are the improvements.
For those who didn't play the original two, you can consider the gameplay to require: - The tactical finesse of Domination in WC4 and Legion in GC:R - The ability to fight extremely tough missions with limited gens and troops like in the Crimean War Challenge series of EW6:1804 and the History Missions of EW6:1914. - A LOT of patience to grind materials for upgrades (all ET games).
Now, the main thing to look out for is how ET tackles these weaknesses as well as how ET improves on the original two's strengths. Indeed, if not for our veterans beating the original two under the games' extremely harsh conditions, it's easy to lump the entire game as pay-to-win.

Indeed, if not for our veterans beating the original two under the games' extremely harsh conditions, it's easy to lump the entire game as pay-to-win. The reason a lot of ET games feel like pay-to-win for newer players is because the medals you get are limited and it's very easy to make bad decisions when you don't know the ins and outs of the game. Take WC3 for example. Medals are really not that easy to get by and getting any sort of competent generals at the start requires saving up. It's very easy for a newbie to get some unusable generals for 400-500 or to try to add some stars to an EC in hopes of becoming a little stronger. Grinding medals in that game is also incredibly stupid. I usually just don't spend any resources at all until I get 100% stuck in both conquests and campaigns. That way I can get a better feel for the game and then make better decisions, and even if I do spend on an overpriced general that isn't as good as someone cheaper, that's (usually) still better than getting a bunch of bad low tier generals.

Just wondering, are the pre registration rewards in game medals or assignable ones to generals?

I only hope that they get rid of medical packs...game becomes dull and boring with these. Btw, any ETA for the release?

This game looks great! I hope it won't be as hard as the last one, I didn't even finish the pacific mode.

I hope that it will have much more commonwealth characters, generals and unique units than previous games were all the commonwealths had was 1 or 2 generals, some not even purchasable and 1 or no unique units.
