The general in question is Kollowrat. Two stars in infantry and artillery, and his only skill is geography (eliminates terrain effect on movement).
But what a skill.
Now it's useless on infantry (which have Geography built in), but on artillery it's a godsend. I need to get him a movement star (which means grinding medals for Diez to regroup into him) so he can move heavy artillery two hexes, and then he'll be a fair bit more useful.
I did it because my Android tablet's progress died a while ago and now my Kindle Fire HDX is dead. That's Sophia, Maria, Sakurako and Isabella and all my items down the drain. I was originally going to leave the game altogether, but I found it was too much fun and I had to come back. But I decided no more princesses, no more save-load grinds, no more speed runs; just play conquests, have fun doing it, and try out some generals and nations I never used before.

Hmm, aren't there some others who also have Geography?

Hmm, aren't there some others who also have Geography? There are, but he is the cheapest. Since I'm not even bothering to go for the princesses this time around, or even do the campaigns, I don't need the supreme heavy hitters; I just want to have some fun with the lesser lights.

Moving Items are cheaper than Diez. So for first you need two Horse artillery, and you want to use the geography skill, right... Item holders like Krollowat can help, but later. I only buy trainers, they have at least a secondary use. While you were away, we go many new insights, have a look at Friedrich “Fried Rice” Paulus's general ranking - he even presented, as the final cherry, the perfect starting line up - Arnold, Kutzaisov, Diez. Enjoy!

𝘛𝘳𝘰𝘵𝘴𝘬𝘺, There's a whole lot about this game that I need to re-learn - stuff that I SHOULD know, but have allowed the finer points of it to escape my brain. Kutaisov is someone I have bought and regrouped many, many times. My star lineup until I could unlock princesses used to be Dumouriez, Carteaux, Kutaisov, but now that I'm not intending to get the princesses at all and just fooling about in Conquest mode I will almost certainly be buying a different lineup.

I'm happy that you are back! And you are such an experienced player! I just want to point out: Its less re- than learnk'ing new stuff '. I.E: - Did did you learn that ressources at the end of a conquest are valued 2:1 ? - Did you you learn that the game has four snair drums? - Did you learn how to get 900/900/700 years (exactly)? .... We got many additional knowledge for this not so new- game in the last months. So, if one day, you want princess, it will be a pleasure for me to give assistance, for sure. When you play your fun conquests: PLEASE: Post your conquest here This will be a nice help for everyone! [who`s passing] I'm preparimg atm the data reference for all ages (economy, trading, tavern generals)

I like the idea of trying out the lesser generals just to have fun. My recommendation, don't worry about training them. Dietz is a better general than Kollowrat so it doesn't make sense to use him to train. Just keep Dietz and now you have 2 generals! Just watching the video commercials gets you about 100 medals a day. If you can get Arnold, he's a big help. His 5 trading stars can make exchange the wine and medkits you win for more medals.

Kollowrat starts off with no movement stars whereas Kutaisov one, so even with an oak wheel they’ll move about the same.

Yepp and to make use of the geography skill you need two movement items - one war horse is indispensable anyway for a team.

Chain the Beast is very early in the Coalition campaign, and in the northern shop (Turkish port upper left) I found the oak wheel and Arnold made it cheap. Now Kollowrat can move heavy and siege artillery two squares over any ground. Better generals and princesses can do more, but at this early stage of the game the consistency of movement is an appreciable asset.

Arnold is great, special so early - you can buy all items you can use in the campaign. If you need 🎖 sell something - the items always go back to the original store where there from - I bought and sold (renting without fee) the same Blucher Sabre more than 10 times. For me, 1. movement and 2. economy are the keys to beat the game. I like Kollowrat, and I don't rember which mission it was, but he was not so bad, Geography is a strange skill - very very useful at the early beginning of the game. Once you have the war horse, the skill has only a use with two movement items. In endgame with trained generals (not Kollowrat!) the skill has its maximum Value. I had Quosdannowith, Arnold, Agha and Ferdinanol to get the princess. Only Arnold for the conquests, but you need a decent headquarter to get elite princess. Kollowrat is sadly no trainer, so one time he has to make space and the medals are lost. Chain the beast - same event from the French side offers the war horse I think. I made the Items Reference to plan shopping. One question: you play 4slots f2p, right?

𝘛𝘳𝘰𝘵𝘴𝘬𝘺, that's right. 4 slots FTP. I will grind the French missions to be able to access Warhorse, but first I want Kutaisov and Diez.

I've started watching them and I figure what the hell, I hardly ever used the booze and medpacks. Why not? I'll fire up Chain the Beast, put Arnold into a shop and get cracking. Thanks for suggesting that.

littlecorporal , speaking of those, I watched all of yesterday's and now they are gone; invisible. It's 10am where I am. I assume that the "clock" for them to renew is in China (obviously) and hasn't ticked over yet; do you know roughly what time they can be expected? Or is it automatically 24 hours after I finished the last lot?
