Conquer Balikpapan in 10 turns - no problem
Conquer Massakar in 15 - a bit harder, but still very doable
Conquer Surabaya in 24 - even easier than Balikpapan
Conquer Jakarta in 18 - How the heck are you supposed to do it?

So, you guys managed to do this? I have this same problem with ocuppying Jakarta Here's my strategy. I completed the mission in 21 turns. I bought only Leeb, Nagumo and Yamashita. You only need an infantry general with a few stars in the air. But I finished with Model, He has only 2 stars in air. But I improved my air tech to level 2. This is necessary for the Fighter to reach the city. Without this upgrade, only the heavy bomber can reach the city. Which also makes it possible to win. 1. 1-10 turn. Divide troops into 2 invasion groups. Yamashita, Leeb and Terauchi walk along the west coast and capture the Balikpapan and last city in the west. Model and Bock walk along the east coast and capture last city in the east.  2. 15 turn. Terauchi kills defender of the city by air strike. And then on Parachute Jaeger captures Makassar. 
3. 17 turn. Model kills defender of the airport by air strike. And then on Airborne Troops captures it. You only need to capture the airport! The city will be captured by the allies if you help with the battleship. I used Nagumo. 18 turn. Model kills defender of the Jakarta by air strike. And then on Airborne Troops captures the city. It's easy, as there is no air defense in the city.  4. At the same time the rest of the troops (Yamashita, Leeb, Bock) sail across the sea and capture Surabaya. Ozawa on cruiser helps clear the passage of enemy submarines. 
5. 21 turn. Congratulations you won!!!  |

In fact, you can use any generals. Generals are not as important in this game as in WC4. In GOG 3, strategy and control of your troops are much more important.

Well ..... This one making me bruhhh :3 East Indies Campaign sucks :-( I did it with rundsted guderian leeb and ozawa. You just need to completely clear the first island you get(steal allies land) then just use supplies for navy and help AI yamashita for him to kill brits. then there will be the final island. I launched 500 golds worth air strikes to it and basically left no one alive and then my paeajaeger rundsted claimed it for me.( my tech is low 2-4-3-3-2and this one took me almost 10 tries to master. |

This was the easiest axis star for me to complete LOL. I have Just Philippines and New Guinea to Perfect both Pacific and N. Africa.

i have tried doing the guide it doesn’t help i cant get jakarta and surabaya on time and all my land units are dead.
Am i missing something?

Do you land them as one group or separately? Do you keep sailing in the face of a sitting ship blasting away at them? Otherwise, upgrading to better tech lvls should help.
Also, do not try to rush for all bonus objectives for this mission. Unless you're a certain Lucklife, you'll want to wait until late 1941 North Africa or early 1944 Western Front for a perfect clear. |

actually , it quite easy to beat this mision , use doenitz+ozawa+kesselring to support yamashita and he will handle wavell really well. and use yamashita and terauchi to parachute airborne , when the sea is clear , stack guderian to 3 and amphibious attack with support of doenitz+kesslering
