Hello everyone, I have managed to accumulate 1158 medals and just got Stonewall Jackson (who’s a beast!). I am on chapter 2 of the campaign and I am wondering on what I should spend my medals on.

Straubenburg and beseler 100% Personally, the arty provided in the first few Campaign series should be enough to last you so I'd prefer Straußenburg then Beseler. |

Beseler is a beast.I hardly suggest you to get him first,then maybe Ivanov because artillery is crucial for destroying cities.

As normal arty troops provided or the presence of Factories. These are largely sufficient for clearing out the first few campaigns. Free gen Selivanov is a nice bonus as well when he's unlocked in the Russian Campaign. Since what we're given is enough, inf should be maximised first by hiring Straußenburg before hiring Beseler. |

Seems like it comes down to Beseler and Straubenburg for my first general. But what about cavalry? Jackson pretty much covers that category?
Also, who are all the free generals?

You get 3 great cavalry gens and 3 solid admirals in the first 5 campaigns meanwhile on infantry your stuck with grant who sucks and Andrey for artillery who also sucks |

Macmahon is amazing, fairly cheap, and is available right away. I don't know if Vladimir Vazov is available immediately (lolno), but he is actually fantastic, especially for his price.
Straubenburg is only, like, 100 medals more, though, and doesn't have any skills SCREAMING to be replaced, so he just might be the right guy for the job.

Get Hindenburg. Hindenburg is one of the backbones of the game (And has the most potential because of being maxed out at emperor.)

I did Macmahon, then Beseler, then Lee(!). I swapped Battle Array for Tactics Master and maxed everything out. Amazing. Tunnel is useful, because I'll be using my inf to attack units in a city anyway, so why not do some dmg to the city? Next I am buying Hipper (superior to Beatty), then Straußenberg.
