After a lot of grinding and replays, I have completed the Imperial Eagle and Coalition campaigns. When I reached HRE, in the Reconstruction of the Empire mission, we will be given two choices - Prussia and Austria.
M question is that -
1. Does the selection of the country now influence the future missions? Because in the next mission, Attack on the French, I get the Prussian generals (Yorck), who never appeared as a HRE general and also Blucher in the next mission (peninsular war).
2. If I would had taken Austria, would I have gotten Austrian generals?
3. Also, how is Prussia related to HRE? If it was so, then why wasn't Prussia part of HRE in 1798 conquest?

Nope, all the rest of the missions are independent of that one. By the end you get British and French generals as HRE too 2. No 3. I think it’s because at one point (centuries before, not in 1798) HRE ruled all of that land, and the point of the campaign is to restore that former glory. Also, by the end, the “empire” was super fractured and its borders were not clearly defined, so EasyTech just had to make some choices probably. |

HRE was mostly Germany so the campaign is more about which country will unite Germany first.

Playing Prussia you can buy the only Napoleonic code during the campaign. The other shop that sells one NC, is the bonus-mission before the Final Battle.
The "Holy Roman Empire of the German nation" (1.Empire) was destructed by the individual interrests and conflicts between its two dominant kingdoms, Austria and Prussia. They finally ended the HRE in 1806.
The "Deutsches Reich" (2. German Empire), dominated by Prussia, was founded 1871 and lasted until 1945, although the last 12 years were called 3.Reich (just 12 - not 1000).
Germany exist only since 1955 (194?).
The mission is playing in 1815:
The German Confederation (German: Deutscher Bund) was an association of 39 predominantly German-speaking sovereign states in Central Europe, created by the Congress of Vienna in 1815 as a replacement of the former Holy Roman Empire, which had been dissolved in 1806.
The HRE-campaign is playing 1807-1823, after the existence of the HRE.
German Confederations would be a better name (Confederation of Rhine: 1806 - 1813)
