I have this team for the history mode,I wasn't normally using Moltke and Hindenburg because I have Plummer+Stonewall+Beseler+Ivanov but I did upgrade them quite a bit for using them in history mode. THE PROBLEM IS even though I tried it 3 times,I failed in all of them.I just can't break through the Austrians and my generals get hugely damaged in turn 5.The defeat seems certain after turn 8. I don't think I'm bad at the game but I don't understand why I'm failing on this one.I have read the guide for it in the forum but it didn't help me because it is not that easy to take first two cities, unlike it says in the guide. What should I do?Does tech upgrade helps in this one?

Have you finished the campaign the history mode is the hardest one so you will need the best tech Actually, if posts on tech scaling are true, having the best tech on your end means the enemy possessing even better tech in their end. This is worse in Challenge Conquests.

The guide worked probably because the poster has max tech and also got lucky (note the low hp on the fort).
I started playing this campaign with only Moltke and Beseler (less upgraded than yours). I realised I could not replicate the moves so I bought Falkenhausen. He actually make a huge difference. Without him deployed on the new infantry, the enemy inf from the north eastern city will block the new inf's path, making it impossible to capture the city in turn 2.
I have formulated the following moves based on your circumstances.
Build Military Academy and formulate blast. Use promotion on Roon. If he's capable to cause at least 100 damages on the city, then use the other promotion on Moltke. Otherwise use promotion on him again on turn 2. Use Beseler and Moltke to attack Albert.
Note: The inf next to Roon is light inf in the home city (not new inf) which can move 4 tiles. If your light inf can not move 4 tiles, either wait for the tech upgrade or buy Falkenhausen.
Use Roon to defend the home city. The home city will occasionally fall (game over) without any general's help. Let Moltke and Beseler go for the middle city. Pull Beseler back if necessary to avoid excessive damages. Spam militia from the captured cities to help defend the home city.
Since you have Hindenburg, you can either use him to defend the home city or attack the middle city.
I suggest formulating 4 spys to use on the 2 large forts in the east.
If you want, you can cheat a little bit. If Beseler's tactic master did not trigger in turn 1, restart.
I put browning pistol and ambulance coach on Moltke.

This is worse in Challenge Conquests. According to what I've heard, the enemies will always be 2 levels higher than the player in every branch of tech in history and challenge conquests. The difference is our allies are on the same level as the enemies in history but lower than us (not sure by how much for now) in challenge conquest. If we can confirm it, then probably the only kind of tech worth upgrading is population (and possibly movement).

Yes the enemies in conquest challenge and history mode always have 2 level higher than us in every branch... yet I think we should upgrade to max tech coz the different becomes smaller when we have higher tech, level 1 and level 3 is a real different but level 5 and level 7 differ not that much... the things I can’t make it clear is tech for barrier/trench/bunker, do they have much more resistance than us when stand on those things or the same? That’ll be kinda matter to upgrade those tech

They can almost kill a general all by themselves.
