We know that its ability to "lower enemy's for 2 rounds when being damaged" is chance based. If morale does temporarily affect stats like atk and def, this is a very important and useful item to have, especially if its ability is passive and can stack with other Artifacts like Gungnir.
Moreover, it comes with a natural healing property, which makes it good for softer gens.
What kind of gen should we use it on? Archers? Cav? Arty?

They are mostly used on the front lines and would need the extra health bouns. Attack does effects unit skills for when Cleopatra gains high morale her stats increase.

I think it's a good fit for a commander as it is passive, and with defence, health, evasion and healing then it seems good for the front line e.g. Attila or Barbarossa. The Ancient Curse is a secondary consideration to these abilites imo. What do you mean by stack btw? You can only equip a general with one artefact.

Golden Mask looks like an accessory to me, so I thought it could be used on a gen with something else equipped like Gungnir.

I use it for my Caesar and it works well. Super tanky.

I think it is even more ideal for Barbarossa than the Ring. Getting Atk and morale down is no joke, and the Mask also provides a better survivability which is good for using Barbarossa as a tank.
And I think you cannot equip it with other artifact.
