Just need tips for those who had cleared it. This mission is a speed bump mission, so any help will be appreciated by future players.
The main problem lies in the strategic movement of our troops, whether to spawn the carrier Reinforcement and how to deal with the waves of reinforcements.

I cleared it, remember the Japanese army is more important than territory. The most important secondary objective is Kill 24 enemy units. Kill everyone along the coast while your east pincer goes to Mandalay, then shift east, use navy to clear coast, go south, and kill Japanese units in north.

Cunningham on Battleship or just the ship alone? The problem lies in the waves of enemies that hit. A defensive battle would force me to give up on the Terauchi(?) secondary objective. I think I'll try another run with much more caution and precision. Losing a KV-6 Monty early on might have contributed decisively.

I don't want to invest in my first admiral (in the entire game) unless he would play an important role in the coming battles as well. Is having Nimitz really a game changer here and in future Allied campaigns? If not, I think I'll try another run with a focus on the land battle or one with Cunningham at the helm of my Battleship.

Naval units aren't really necessary in this map. In my playthrough the turn limit is the biggest enemy with me only barely managing to locate the last enemy and to kill it with an air strike at the last turn, I personally recommend you to blitz mandalay with every you have then steadily advance south retreating to mandalay whenever necessary.

Well having Nimitz can and will probably definitely help. Although for the Axis Doenitz and/or Nagumo will help too.
