I recall many were fascinated by Mannerheim and Yamashita in WC4. But actually there were some bad omens right from the start. Especially amazingly low HP in comparison to tanks... But its WC4, where all you need are tank gens + one artillery gen. Infantry gens were useless in that game.

I played WC4 after modern war update.

Oh, when you said "from the start", I thought you meant at the start of the game, not at the release of the game. I played WC4 after modern war update. Yet I think we should have a plan or a picture at the start of each Et game too. It was a painful experience of many players that proved that Infantry hasn't any future in WC4. We still are lacking similar experience in GoG3 3, since we can only speculate about a future update. And I wouldn't exclude some nasty surprises as well. On a positive side there are not so many good generals in the game to make a critical mistake

Yeah, in WC4 there was a possibility to choose either plain fighting or rumour We don't know unfortunately how successful were those with Plain fighting

PF is only useful in 1943 and 39’ 3 star conquests where health is jo issue, so the extra damage can be impactful.
In 1 Star countries and 1950 and 80’, enemies have enough health and there are too few of you for rumor to not be worth it.

We had quite intense debate with one of the players who was sure that PF is way better ) That was before the last update of course.

I'm of the mind that terrain skills are too situational, so I'd take rumor any day.

Golly, I get that they are working on EW5, but they are taking long enough!
