At 2055 medals in Empire Age, stuck on Joan of Arc 1 Campaign, have Alex, Li Shimin, Barbarossa, Khalid, Joan of Arc, free gens, and required gens. No upgrades outside of Khalid, Cleo, and Hannibal to Medieval. Running InfCom, and am choosing between Yi-sun-sin, Nobunaga Oda, Richard, and Caesar.

Upgrade Fridrich's Leadership as well. It is an excellent and cheap skill. Barbarossa and Nobunaga with upgraded Leadership can do wonders.

I'd echo the above and add that Nobby will probably have the greater immediate impact. Richard with Gungnir was the star of my InfCom and I highly recommend him too, but I don't think Yi is a good fit: the weakness of InfCom is when you're attacked by cavalry so I'd say you're better off with an anti-cav 2nd or 3rd archer rather than an anti-archer.

I know what you mean Hannibal with Gungnir is also a real Hannibal not a mere shadow of former glory

So the consensus is Nobunaga? Well, consensus is something unusual for forums' debates Let's say you can't be wrong with hiring Nobunaga

Well, consensus is something unusual for forums' debates Let's say you can't be wrong with hiring Nobunaga Consensus is usual when the name Guderian hops in. Not in GOG Classic, Pacific, or 3... But in WC4, you can't go wrong. In WC3, if you are debating between Guderian and Govorov, then it gets ugly...

Could I upgrade Alex and Barbarossa to Empire? I really like counterattack bonus.

Could I upgrade Alex and Barbarossa to Empire? I really like counterattack bonus. Barbarossa is a good general for any team. But in an Infantry team it is "a must" to upgrade him. With Alex things are more complicated because being gold he is a very expensive general to upgrade. You should do this only if you are certain that he will be an important part of your future team.

Got Nobby and maxed Barbarossa's Leadership. A wise move Both of Nobunaga's debuffs are extremely useful. Plus he hits like a truck... I fact I upgraded his first skill as well when I used him, but now with all great weapons available we don't need it, I presume...

Working on GOG3 now.
