It's not like its misrepresenting the final product though. You can use generals like Tassigny and Badoglio in the North African Campaign despite the fact that they never fought in that theater. Also, they're not Easter Eggs, unless there's some kind of secret that they reveal.

Yes, that's exactly what they're doing. Still not an easter egg though.
