Some Pacific campaigns are tricky because of different winning conditions. On one occasion Leeb might be more useful, on another Yamashita. The most annoying missions are those with dozens of islands and key targets. In this situation the role of Artillery is rather unimportant. On the other hand huge land battles are relatively easy. One notable exception is the Battle of Washington.

You need good paratroopers for those.

His air power will be heavily appreciated. In Battle of Singapore, he can kill the pesky British commander from afar and rack up enough kills for the sub-conditions.

Yep, he's quite an universal soldier. In naval battles he can command carriers, on land he's able to lead an Infantry unit using his air skills if/when necessary.
