What if the French won the Franco-Prussian War ? I believe that prussia may have been forced to demilitarise a bit, and ultimately the German states may not have become completely unified, as prussia was the driving force behind this unification. Also, the war was partiely caused by Germany's refusal to seperate Belgium between each other. Belgium would have been annexed probably, the South German States would have been given either to Austria or inside Austrian influence. Prussia's military history would have been wrecked and kinda like after WW1. The 2nd French Empire would have survived and the Commune would have never happened. The power balance in Europe would have been drasticly changed.

Here, you can say what you think the greater outcome would have been, for example saying what you think would have happened if Germany won WW1. You can also say what you Real Life strategy would have been, if you were for example Commander of Italian forces during WW2 apparently, the Germans would've made peace with France if they gave Germany one of their African colonies, but the French too proud to refuse, decided that it would be a better idea to have their entire army go into a mutiny. Possibly France would still exist, it's just that the Germans might take all of their African possesions. Obviously, Germany wouldnt be terribly weak and Communist-fearing, so Hitler would have no way to exploit the government. In order to do this, like many before this said, just dont involve Belgium, and start winning, so that countries like Italy and Rumania would actually take your side. As for Russia, just defend on their front long enough for the war to seem pointless, send Lenin over there, and let him wreak havoc and watch the Russians collapse of their own accord. Then simply for peace terms, ask for Upper Salicia, and you have yourself a faithful ally. Then, it will be the Ottomans, the Italians, the Russians, and many more against just France. Britain will eventually enter the war, but by then you can just blockade them, and their attacks will be halfhearted, while their armies will mutiny. The only place they wouldnt be very successful, would be your colonies, but by then the Allied Powers cant really do much when you have Paris, and are starving the British homelands into submission. Keep your submarines to the UK coasts, get on good terms with the USA, and you have won the war. The French, too proud at their 19th century achievements, will definitely start a war to take their African Colonies back. This war will be harder, but the Germans can just dig in, and let the French and British wear their forces out in Europe, while sending most of your troops to the colonies to defend those, and potentially capture more. At this time, both the British and French troops are going to question the point of fighting, if the Germans are not directly threatening their capitals, and once again the harsh trench conditions will prove to a mass mutiny. With both armies in chaos, the Germans with Russian reinforcements will quickly sweep into Paris once again, and this time, instead of leaving the French be, they take all their overseas territories as well as all the French territory east of Lyon, and set up a puppet government leaning towards Germany. Then it's only the British to worry about, and with most of Europe supporting you, there isnt much they can do.

What if the French won the Franco-Prussian War ? In short run, Prussian will be halted but it will only increase the rivalry between UK and France which is going to Benifit Prussia in the long run.

What hurt Germany most was Naval Blockade and that is the reason for the u-boat campaign which brought USA closer to Entente and one thing leads to another and in October- November 1918, Americans were trying to break the Hindenburg line. Capturing colonies is pointless for central powers since war was decided in Europe.

This I agree with. In this scenario, assuming everything goes the same as OTL up to when France wins the war, Prussia has just decisively crushed Austria. If France beats Prussia, the British are going to be very scared at how quickly the balance of power is shifting.

Yes. And along with that, It would keep a temporary check and force Prussians to know that they ARE NOT dominant on the continent and would would their every step.

Good point, i'll agree with that, it's just that war would start in the colonies, so it would probably have to end in the colonies. Just my philosophy on this.

Most Colonial administrators did not wanted war instead they wanted to consolidate their power there with co-operation since most territories were held only in name.
