Is it efficient to spend medals on upgrading my existing generals like Alexander and Robin Hood or should I save up my medals for the ones I find in the tavern.
I want to upgrade Jebe, but then he'll lose the horse archer ability. And now I regret not saving up for generals like Suleiman and Li Shimin and instead I spent it on upgrading generals like Huo Quibing( big mistake >.>)

And now I regret not saving up for generals like Suleiman and Li Shimin and instead I spent it on upgrading generals like Huo Quibing( big mistake >.>) If you ever watch videos of our famous YouTuber Iron Duke you will see that he plays with both Huo and Robin quite successfully  . But, you are right in your presumption that such generals are not what you need right now. No need to be frustrated though. There isn't any fault in EW5 that couldn't be redeemed. Try not to think in terms of individual generals, but rather in terms of a team. There are many generals who work well together supporting each other. For now I recommend you to forget about Suleiman. Buy Attilla and fully upgrade his Bravenes and his Commander skill at least to lvl 6. This alone will help you to solve many problems. Remember Commanders (these are generals with aura) are most important team members. Usually you build up your team around them. |

I haven't unlocked the gunpowder age yet, and in campaign I'm at empire age.
My dilemma is Should I upgrade Jebe to riflemen? Or is he of any use in his horse archer stage?

In chess it is called a "space left behind". Sometimes you have to abandon one advantage to gain another one. You can't progress without upgrading your generals. One consolation is that Jebe will receive his Mobility back at lvl 6. |
