So,ships have always been a fringe element in easytech games, and I thought it could be solved in this game, but to my sadness it didn't, let's break down ship problems and how to fix them.
1)Graphics:For some strange reason, all ships are the same except for Japanese ships, they have given unique skins to most nations for armies, but not for the navy.
This thing can be easily fixed in a short time, and even if it is not essential it would be a good thing to have some diversity for the ships.
2)Lack of mechanics:in WC4 each naval unit had specific abilities, here for some reason the navy follows a bigger stronger logic
so it happens that the destroyers, which are the basis of all fleets, here are just small cheap ships for when you can't afford heavy ships
How i will fix it:
1)Add 3 new types of ships: torpedo boats are not yet in the game and there isn'0t the distincion between light,heavy and battle cruisers,it would be a good thing to add them in order to diversify the fleets and make them more interesting
2)Ship mechanics: Below are ship types and the abilities I would give them
Submarine:They are perfect as well but I would do that they cannot be detected by heavy ships
Torpedo Boat:Economic,Bonus against heavy ships(Battleships,Heavy Cruiser,Batlle Cruiser and Aircraft Carrier),Low Hp,Fast.
Destroyer:Economic,Bonus against submarine and heavy ships,ability to place Naval Mines,Fast,Can detect submarines.
Light Cruiser:Bonus against transports,fast,Can detect submarines
Heaavy Cruiser:High Hp,Expensive,AA guns
Battle Cruiser:High Hp,Expensive,AA guns,More powerful cannons
Battleship:High Hp,Very expensive,More powerfull AA gun
Aircraft Carrier:planes should be more powerful and be separate units that can land on aircraft carriers making it more interesting and realistic, maybe someday I'll create a separate discussion on how to improve planes,also a little damage against enemy ships
3)Fleets in the army group:in the army group the land units are organized in armies that move together, but the ships are always alone and do not have the possibility to create a single large fleet, in my opinion if you could the game would be more interesting and realistic.
3)AI:in easytech games the Ai has never been very smart, but here it seems that I don't even know how to use ports, when I play in the army group no one creates ships and even when he has the opportunity to use the navy, he prefers to send land units to slaughter by having them attack submarines (the most stressful thing is that sometimes they even win) this thing is very stupid, the AI should create ships and not use random troop transports, it is too unrealistic even for a mobile video game.
