Funny that most of my friends who are interested in WW2 believe Model is severely overrated. As the only Axis tank general who had some success at Kursk, even when Bagramyan intercepted him, he is fairly underrated. Manstein?

Hoth led the southern pincer directly. He suggested it, and proposed that the southern pincer goes this way. Bagramyan was the one who sniffed out the German plan, and told Sokolovsky. He then stopped the northern pincer

Yes, Manstein suggested it, and he did lead the southern prong, but Hoth was to take direct control over the forces that were in the heaviest fighting

As the only Axis tank general who had some success at Kursk, even when Bagramyan intercepted him, he is fairly underrated. I went over their comments again. They call him overrated mainly because he is only a defender that didn't really stand out among the likes of Reinhardt, Heinrici, etc. Of course he is a good defender, but when Kleist and Heinrici are ranked so low by easytech, Model doesn't really deserve what easytech gave him.

Thank you for reminding us of Kleist. EasyTech's pictures makes him look like he's just chugged an entire bottle of Sam Adamd
