The same thing happens to me as well. You need to install files or File Manager. This will allow you to install the APK. Wow this was a fast response :-)) But he istalled the vanilla-package with MT before. It looks really that a reboot may help. The preinstalled google files is a troian. I disable these risks. MT manager is not very effective with newer model devices. Sure, it still works but, it has many errors.

The keyboard in the editor uses raw and not vanilla - this is the only bug I encountered in MT (Andoid 8.1 and 9.0) it is the filemanager I use for my devices.

Newer device models such as Android 10 and up, have ram combined with the phone storage. This prevents MT to work or install sometimes.

Even my phone with Android 8.1 has only shared ram, Android go (x.1) is horrible. I really would like to understand why this MT-glitch appeared - and you know it too. Missing (shared) memory causes other errors (on my device). First thing for all bugs/glitches: Reboot and try again! PS. I want to activate freeform mode, but I can't find the correct cables on the island. It took me days to find a simple adapter (80 ct) to use a mouse with the tablet... finally I can use it again.

You even should try to un-check in MT-settings: APK installation prevents deleteion ... This may cause the installer to be abnormal in some systems.

System files for devices above Android 9 are more of experiments at the moment. I recommend just having a phone with 3GB of ram along, with a SD card of 64 or more.

You should switch to MT manager to solve these problems.

You seem to be using APK Editor- a old broken tool with little purpose. You should switch to MT manager to solve these problems. How to use MT manager, it is very complex. Especially, how to build the apk after editing. It looks difficult at first but, you will enjoy the tool in time. It works similar to APK Editor- opens and edits files- with many improvements. For Level and map editing, I suggest Hex Editor.
