overall, I think it depends more on fame than who actually committed war crimes. Goering was famous for his crimes against humanity, so he was banned. Panzer Meyer did terrible things during the Ardennes Offensive, and Schorner was a nazi fanatic, yet nobody knows them

Goering was known for his war crimes. That and him being a famous officer of the Luftwaffe. Frunze generals were never charged for war crimes because they won. West Point and Royal generals were never charged for war crimes because they won. The only general who ever fought for the allies that I remember was charged for war crimes was Medina, and that was at Mai Lai, 25 years later So what? If the CCP cared about war crimes then they wouldn't just oppose the inclusion of Goring. The question is what specifically triggers the CCP. Goering is famous. Anybody who knows anything abt WWII will hear of Goering's war crimes. Not so much with everything else like Schorner, and Brauchitsch

Otherwise Reichenau would have been included and Hoth excluded.

do you possibly think because they were anti-communist officials? But that doesn't make sense because China's becoming a capitalist country

A lot people know about his trial, which set the Yamashita standard. Why didn't the CCP censor him? Considering he is Japanese, the CCP would have zero sympathy for him, even though he never fought in China.

Why Kuniaki Koiso (The Japanese PM), Terauchi, and Yasuji Okamura was included is beyond me. Especially Okamura.

All I remembered was that after Singapore, he was sidelined by Tojo and sent to train troops in Manchuria.

I guess we'll never know why Goring was censored.

I think the CCP only cares about figures that directly make the CCP look bad. I can see them being triggered by the inclusion of the ROC in any respect but Goring stumps me. I mean, if Goring can't be there than neither should Model.

Here's a good way to end off this discussion:
"No one ever says anything bad about the CCP".

Jamesyang doesn't respond to things like this. All I can say is that Goring was not censored because of his infamous war crimes. Something else must have triggered the CCP.
