New mod... change-ups include desert feature on mobile infantry, field artillery and armored cars ( mad max! ), and howitzers having assault feature, light tanks having forest feature, all mech infantry have a range of 2.... the changes make for a wildly diff game...
But... for some reason my HQ level hits 50 in no time flat.... and the Pacific Theatre just disappeared.
It opens on the Scenario set but the map is BLANK... the missions aren't even on the map, though they are in the other Scenarios ( but they aren't playable because they aren't unlocked).
I'm stumped. I have checked and rechecked for syntax error, etc... HELP!!

WC4... the missions are "blank" on the Pacific group... what I mean is that though I completed Europe on both normal and hard, pacific mission 1 DOESN'T light up to where I can select it.

I have went thru stagesettings, compared it to that file in another apk, etc... I mY have to import the file from that other apk and then make my reward changes again but DAMN what a pain in the arse...

I am following this thread, but I have no direct WC4-experience, so more general advises, as you are still struggeling. Do you have an editor with propper text-highting for json-files? nmm shows at least missing parathensis and brackets, but not missing doublepoints (  ! Highlighting, is fastest helper. XML-files you can check at w3c, and for sure there (online) tools to check the integrety of json-files. If you know the buggy file: (replace changed file by file with the orig) What I noticed tested only for xml-files on a syntax error, et-games just stop interpretation of the file and continue with the next one. If you have settings that work, usually the file is correct until this point, the error will be later: XML- and JSON-files with id: should not have a order, if you have an easy provable setting, move this ahead to see when it is not interpreted anymore, to localise the wrong byte in your code. Hope you get it soon. PS. History: Bugs, real ones, caused malfunction and wrong calculations of the MARC II- for this reason, we call software-errors a bug. First actual case of bug being found:  Eddison cold not deliver his first phone (not mobile) on time, because of bugs. The word was already used in the 19th century. |

Ahhh-ha!! So now I know where that phrase came from. Many thx.
I will dbl chk that the syntax detector is still on... I use MT Manager so the default is "on" but you never know. I actually suspect that I may have screwed a hex entry trying to turn port healing on;I reversed what I had put in (big fail!)but might've botched that....?
Also will take your other advice. You've been a great help.

Β‘ Great ! Could you locate the error ? No. I wound up replacing my stage settings with a clean one and then reworking it. ...step by step...extra careful. I did find some transposed digits and some places that had an extra space (that's when I decided to start anew). |
