Wow, I posted, went to sleep and meanwhile a load of replies, tnx! The reason I was thinking about a navy gen is that I'm stuck in naval challenges (Break through 5 and Rescue 6) and I use gens like Nasser and Pound for grinding out the missions to get resources and medals. Considering that at conquests I have finished '39, '43 and '50, are you guys still of the opinion that I should sell them and get Goering? Yes, Infantry doesnt have much output and is kinda crap. How many times do you need an infantry general? Pound only got 1 air star, replace him with the better ozawa (japan) Eventually youll need göring. So for now sell pound for ozawa. Who are your other gens?

Sorry for the late response and tnx for the advice. I already had a bunch of generals and conquests done, but grinded my way to Guderian. So now I have: - Guderian - List - Pound - Nasser - Vatutin - Ozawa - Badoglio Next to that I'm at 958 medals atm, so where to go next? I think I need another Navy general like Clark, or should I aim higher? Never mind, found it. Sell list+nassr for govorov (he has the highest output in the whole game). For now, keep the rest since your stuck at naval missions. Save up for göring, sell pound if you can buy göring.

He's the best general in the game output wise. His only problem is mobility

I decided to go for Goering first and after that Govorov, thanks all! Arnold is better for air because he has more mobility both have full air ability and other skills dont matter because they wont be fighters but they will send fighters

Also, Goering's skills are focused in taking advantage of the fact that Goering will mostly be in cities.

Hi All. I've been playing a few months and it seems I've done it all wrong with the medals. I've got: Dumitrescu Smigly Chung I realize now how horrible these choices were, but they seemed good at the time. Chung is actually not too bad, for the cost. And I invested most of the rest of the medals into the 3 Commander generals, none of which are anything special. About 65hp each and 3 stars in Armor, Infantry and Navy respectively. I've already gotten to 1939 missions 8/8 and beaten 2 conquests (1939 Finland and 1950 Greece). Having a really tough time with every mission at this point, just not enough health and firepower to get thru most of them. Any way to try and recover from this? Or do I basically need to uninstall and start over, and do it right with Badoglio/Ozawa? Is the recommendation to completely ignore the Commander generals for a long, long time? Or do you put some medals into getting them to at least Lieutenant and add a star or two in some area like artillery or armor? My instict had been that something is better than nothing (quantity over quality) but I can see now that this was a total fail... Etheron

Etheron Ignore the Eyes-Covered Generals (what we call the commander Generals) Use them until you have 6 real Gens, but don't pour a single medal into them until late-game. Going straight for Badoglio and Ozawa is my recommendation indeed.

Ok I'm at an impasse at this moment as to what commander I should go for next. I have been following Mansteins guide as close as I can. I currently have 538 medals along with the following generals: Guderian Manstein Vatutin Govorov Badoglio Ozawa
I started mighty covered general and he has lvl 1 plain, lvl 1 explosive , lvl 1 marching and s lieutenant health.
Would it be a good idea to sell badoglio and buy Student and use the extra medals to level up either Students health and/or continue working on my eye covered artillery?
Or should I do something different?

Would recommended to get göring first before upping eye-covereds since hes handy in almost all later campaigns

The reason Itagaki beat Vatutin is because if you are on the 1939 conquest, Itagaki is a marshal, while Vatutin is a lower rank. So Vatutin will do more damage, but Itagaki's rank boost will win out.

What conquests are easy, quick, and don't need good generals? It can be any country in any conquest but just don't suggest 1939 3 star countries as they don't give many medals.
