GolitsynType of General : Cavalry
Price : 4 Emblems or 955 Medals
A very good and capable cavalry general. Usually, most of the people get him as their 4th general with 4 slots. This is because he has 5 stars on cavalry, hence no training required. Strike and Surprise are the "Must have" cavalry skills. He can deal a huge damage too. 3 star movement is sufficient as for a cavalry general. However, do not go by his stars and skills because he cannot survive for long and his damage ability is lost when he loses his health.

SulkowskiPrice: 3 Emblems or 850 Medals Type of General: Cavalry Ok, I might have been roasted if I said Sulkowski can be the last slot filler instead of Golitsyn a few years back, but I know it won't happen now as the forum has become more flexible. Why can he be a last slot filler? A last slot filler must be someone who can fill out multiple roles as you know he will be your last general, especially for 4-5 slot players. And Sulkowski does just that. You want to clear hordes of enemy? His 4 cavalry stars + Strike is a good combo. Want to destroy forts? You have Spy. Why? Sophia does has Spy? But she can't be everywhere. He has 4 stars, instead of Golitsyn's 5! You might say. But you can get him before you join the princess and train him once. 2 stars are sufficient for his movement.

BerthierType of General : Artillery/Cavalry hybrid
Price : 4 Emblems or 945 Medals
If there is someone more weird than Berthier, it's Berthier himself. I would rather rate all Tier 1 rather than rate him. Listen why. You see his 4 star artillery? Cool right? No. He has no arty skills except Geography, which is a waste without proper movement (He has only 1 movement star). *Looks at Strike and Surprise* You want to train him to give him 5 star cavalry? Well, you would need about 120 refreshes along with 4 x 375 = 1500 medals, if you aim for the cheapest cavalry trainer (Agha).
How can this get worse!? Yeah it can get worse. Remember that a cavalry general without mobility is more of a liability. So to bring his movement stars to at least 3, you would need another 1020 medals. Or 1530 medals for 4 star movement. And did I mention 60 refreshes for 2 movement stars? So that adds up to 2530 medals and 180 refreshes to level him up to 5 star cavalry and 3 movement stars.
But once you level him up, he is probably the best cavalry general, next only to Lan. A perfect reward for a hard work. Perfect challenge for a grinder like Gerd von Rundstedt.

RaevskyPrice: 4 Emblems or 895 Medals
Type of General: Cavalry & Infantry Hybrid
A good staring general. For 895 medals, you get an infantry/cavalry hybrid general who can move very fast. You can regroup him into a general of your choice once his job is done. He isn't great, but he isn't bad.

Savary Price: 4 Emblems or 855 Medals
Type of General: Cavalry/Fort hybrid
You know what's the difference between Murat and Savary? Murat fought on battlefield whereas Savary was one of Napoleon's staff. Hence he looks similar to Murat while being weaker than him. Jokes aside, Savary, though weak, is still very good. He deals good damage too. However, he lacks Strike for his skills and Fireproof is useless for land units. He's basically a downgraded version of Sulkowski for roughly the same price. Still, not bad.

Scharnhorst
Price: 3 Emblems or 795 Medals Type of General: Artillery Scharnhorst is the best free artillery general (Except Isabella and maybe Sophia). He and Kutaisov make a good combination for early game and when you get Sophia, you can regroup them into her. 4 star artillery is very good along with accurate and engineering. A very good general for his price.

UshakovPrice: 3 Emblems or 705 Medals Type of General: Artillery/Navy Hybrid Another great price performer. 5 stars in navy straight off the block is very good. Navigation helps, along with 2 movement stars on ships. But, he would have been Nelson lite if he had Steersman. 2 stars on artillery gives him some land ability along with accurate. However, I feel 2 stars on artillery are average if you ask me. But hey, you still get someone of Treville's capability for 700 medals, which is great.

KosciuszkoPrice: 3 Emblems or 685 Medals Type of General: Infantry/Economic/Fort Kosciuszko is a very good starting general. Architecture is a good skill. 3 star infantry is enough for an economic general. Defense Art is again the icing, along with Fort Trainer. He is basically Fathima but with a Napoleonic code, which is a good exchange for at least some combat ability, compared to none of Fathima's. But he lacks business stars which is a setback and arguably, Arnold is a better buy because he is available from the start, with 5 business stars, also with the fact that Arnold can be bought with only 5 refreshes compared to 30 for Kosciuszko.

Ney Price: 4 Emblems or 920 Medals Type of General: Land Hybrid Ney is the best tier 2 hybrid general. He has 4 stars in cavalry, 3 in infantry and movement and 2 in artillery. He has Spy and Siege Master which work with pretty much every unit. He does have good survivability too. However, he is a bit too expensive for what he brings to the table though. He is easily replaceable with Sakurako (For 4 slots). And also, there are alternatives for this guy in all fields.

DobelnPrice: 3 Emblems or 870 Medals Type of General: Infantry Dobeln's 5 stars in infantry looks impressive. Coupled with Mass Fire and Bugle, he can strike consistently anywhere, anytime. However, be wary that he dies pretty quickly and has no training stars, which is not good. He also comes with a price tag of 870 medals, which you can spend on buying Agha twice ( 2 x 375 = 750 medals) and still being left with 110 medals. He also cannot be a last slot filler as Sulkowski/Golitsyn do their job much better.

Oudinot
Price: 4 Emblems or 950 medals Type of General: Infantry Ah yes! French brother of Dobeln. However, he has 3 training stars in exchange for none for Dobeln's and 1 in movement compared to 2 of Dobeln. The bigger difference is that Dobeln has mass fire instead of Formation and he costs 80 medals less. Along with that, he needs snare drum, to work as Dobeln so...definetely a no buy.

YermolovPrice: 885 Medals Type of General : Infantry/Artillery general No, Yermolov is not a good buy Why? Because he is basically a downgraded version of Scharnhorst for 90 medals more. Both have 4 stars, but Yermolov has formation in exchange for engineering and 3 stars on infantry. However, Scharnhorst has 3 training stars compared to none. He comes very expensive too.

SidneyPrice: 4 Emblems or 870 Medals Type of General: Navy/Infantry A pure navy general has no place in your last 4 lineup. Only someone capable as Nelson might be the one. Sidney is a very good navy general. Steersman reduces damage recieved and navigation gives +1 movement. But his he has 0 potenial as a land general. Sailor is a very situational skill and 3 stars on infantry with no supporting skills is weak. Just get Victoria if you need a Navy general.
